♕ Make Up Look ~ Butterfly ♕{Inspired by _claudiayvette}

Today I'm going to show you a very challenging, artistic look - where I turned my lids into teal butterflies ♥ It's probably the hardest and most complicated look I've ever done so far: it took me ages to complete, and I almost gave up at some point. But, with a little bit of persistence and tons of patience, I managed to successfully completing it!

This look is inspired by an amazing artist, @_claudiayvette on Instagram. I saw this butterfly-like eye look months ago (via another artist, @giuliannaa), and wanted to try it since then... But I missed one key product: a proper eyeliner. At the time I was still using my handmade liner (black pigment mixed with fix +) which worked nicely as eyeliner but wouldn't work for such an intricate design. Since it wasn't no transfer, the thin lines on the lid would mess up in a blink. Literally.
So I put this look aside, while waiting to get a proper liner. When I got Trooper I realized it was THE eyeliner - I tested it with several graphic looks, and it never disappointed me so far. Finally, one day, I decided to try this look. I don't exaggerate when I say that this look took me three hours - and that at some point I thought I wasn't going to make it. It was extremely difficult and challenging - yet totally worth it! I'm still amazed by the end result *__*

The first I did, after applying eye primer, was sketching the butterfly design and this was the trickiest and most time-consuming part. I used KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper: firstly I did a sort of thin winged line, extending the wing a lot - then I worked on the "wavy" shape, moving backwards till I reached the inner corner. Lastly, I added the fine lines on the lid that create the inner shapes - and at this point I almost gave up, because the overall design felt wrong and messy. I kept at it though, working on the lines and shape until they looked good. (I should probably list 'stubbornness' among the products used for this look XD)
Although it was easy to describe, this process alone required almost one full hour.

At this pointed I added the eyeshadows. They're all by Makeup Geek Cosmetics: Shore Thing (the lightest green), Dragonfly (the brightest) and Shark Bait (the darker teal). I created each gradient separately for each section, starting with the palest shade and then adding the other two. It required a lot of "wax on, wax off", it's hard to achieve a perfect blended result in such tiny areas.
When I was happy with the gradients (like, one hour later), I defined the butterfly design: I filled in all the lines, worked on the small details and adjusted some areas where needed.
On the lower lid I used the same shades: Shark Bait first, then I blended it with Dragonfly and lastly I used Shore Thing as transition shade. On my lash line, as usual, I applied Nocturne by NABLA.

Now the final touches. Using a white matte pigment mixed with some drops of Fix + I added the white details and dots; I applied Antique White on my brow bone and one of NABLA's highlighters (Angel) on my inner corner (carefully, trying not to mess up the design); just for fun, I added some glitters on my lower lid - Splash by GlitterTubes.
Lastly, I applied a black eyepencil on my lower waterline, false lashes and mascara.
