Hey everyone! I'm currently stuck in bed with a very bad cold, unable to complete the Makeup Geek haul post - I'm quite unlucky with that, am I not? - but thankfully I have a special makeup to show you so... Here it is!
Today I'm going to show you another inspired look - to be more precise, inspired by a face chart made by an amazingly skilled artist on Instagram, Sergey aka @Milk1422. Check him out, you won't regret it, he creates the most stunning and artistic face charts ever.
This particular one gave me fairy vibes - so I considered this look like a 2.0 version of my previous Fairy Queen look... Hence the title ;D

While browsing on his profile I found this face chart - one of the first he ever posted actually - and as soon as I saw it I thought: "I need to try it!" *_*
The style, the lines, the swirls, the small details... Everything was calling me. So, at the first opportunity, I did my own version of it.
I had never attempted to recreate a makeup from a face chart before, so I made sure to study the design as carefully as I could - but I soon realized I'd do some things differently.
For example, I could not figure out completely what shades were used on the lids - pale browns? Taupe? Dark purple/brown/? Black? I wasn't really sure. There are some hints of violet here and there - so I decided to deviate and chose the lid shades on my own, focusing on lilac, violet and purple.
Also, the eyeliner looks so thin on the chart - I'm still not that sure that there's actually a real line - but I drew that in my usual way.
Ironically, the gold lines and swirls and details gave me close to zero problems. Must admit, this chart caught my attentions because I instinctively knew I could use Klimt (Dazzle Liner by NABLA). It really makes this kind of designs SO easy to draw!
First of all, I applied eyeprimer - this time I used Too Faced's Shadow Insurance Original. As I said previously, I decided to go for lilac and purple - so I applied Hopscotch by Makeup Geek Cosmetics all over the lid. I chose this particular shade because it's so gentle and matte, I thought it would get along pretty well with the rest of the look.
On the crease and outer corner I applied Mimesis by NABLA, trying not to pack too much colour: I wanted a subtle blending. And, speaking of blending, I used Hopscotch again as transition shade.
On the lower lid I applied Cattleya by NABLA which, contrary to the previous shades, it's not a matte shade. On the face chart the violet on the lower lashline is quite visible, that's why I used a brighter shadow.
Before moving to the liners, I applied a pale yellow pigment on the inner corner (which I later used as eyeliner), Antique White on the brow bone and a nude eyepencil on the lower waterline.

Now the fun part: lines and swirls and dots *_*
I started off with the black liner, the easiest one. I mixed, as always, a black pigment with some drops of Fix + to create my black eyeliner - and then traced a classic line. Then I moved on the gold ones and I used the Dazzle Liner in Klimt by NABLA - even though on the chart it looks like he used an ochre liner, but whatever XD
I drew the top ones first, trying to following the original design as closely I could. Not big deal, really, I was done in a matter of seconds. Then I added the dots and moved to the lower design, much more elaborate. I started in the middle moving towards the inner corner, drawing the inner small lines, dots, and swirl. Once I was satisfied with those, I moved back toward the outer corner and patiently drew the curls.
I mixed that pale yellow pigment with some Fix + to transform it into an eyeliner and traced the additional line under the brow bone, and added the small details and additional swirl on the lower design. With the black liner, I added the half-moon shaped details (which were probably brown or purple on the chart, but I kept it simple).
I completed the look with false lashed and mascara on both lower and upper lashes, as usual.
Oh wait! The brows. As you can see, on the chart the brows are very pale, blonde/yellowish. I didn't feel like doing something like that (I don't have the right products) so, once again, I decided to keep it simple. I defined my brows and filled in as usual - using the Brow Pot in Mars by NABLA - and then, as a bonus, I applied randomly Klimt.

And we're done! It was a long process, also a little bit tricky, but a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y worth it!
I always feel so pleased and proud of myself when I achieve this kind of artistic looks *_* Makes me want to keep experiment, improve and try new techniques and styles!
