Dopo la brevissima pausa a tema Paciugopedia, torniamo sul tema sirene - non con un look, bensì con una recensione! Oggi vi parlerò di uno dei miei set preferiti: il Siren Set di Spectrum Collections.

Avevo già parlato di questo set sul blog a Gennaio, nel post di prime impressioni; dopodiché ne avevo parlato anche nel post di confronto tra questo set e il Glam Clam - che trovate qui. Ma adesso è giunto il momento di dedicargli una review approfondita, tutta per lui! (Anche perché, piccolo spoiler: a Settembre uscirà il nuovo set sirenesco ed io sono stata tanto fortunata da ricevere la preview da mostrarvi a brevissimo... E qui si rischia che i post si accavallino XD)

Let's get back into mermaid-themed-post, but not with a makeup look: it's review time! Today I'm going to review one of my favourite brush sets: the Siren Set (& Brush Roll) by Spectrum Collections. 

I've already introduced this set to you on January, with my first impressions post; I also did a comparison post between this and the Glam Clam brush set - which you can find here. But now, as I said before, it's time for an in-depth review! (Spoiler: on September Spectrum will launch their new mermaid inspired brush set - which I'm going to show you next week as a preview, lucky me! And I don't want those posts to pile up on each other XD)

"Sirens are calling - For chic merbabes only!"

Questo set ha debuttato sul mercato ad Ottobre 2015, inizialmente diviso in due mini set (da un lato il Siren Sculpt, composto da soli pennelli viso, dall'altro il Siren Smoke, dedicato ai pennelli occhi). Solo in un secondo momento è stato proposto il set unico composto da 12 pennelli, accompagnato dalla deliziosa custodia a tema sirena. Ad ogni modo, sia i due mini set che la custodia sono ancora disponibili singolarmente.

Io ho ricevuto il set intero per Natale (l'avevo chiesto esplicitamente e il parentado mi ha accontentata XD), perciò lo sto usando ormai da più di sette mesi.
Prima di passare ad analizzare i vari pennelli, vorrei parlarvi della custodia - detta sia "Cute Sushi Roll" che "Siren Brush Roll", come preferite.

The Siren Set debuted on October 2015, at first divided in two small sets (Siren Sculpt - focused on base/powder brushes, and the Siren Smoke, eye brushes only), then as a 12 piece set with a cute, mermaid-y brush roll. The two mini-sets and the brush roll are still available individually.

I got the full set as a Christmas present (I specifically asked for this XD), so I've been using it now for more than 7 months. 
Before getting into the brushes, let's talk about the "Cute Sushi Roll" or "Siren Brush Roll" - whichever you prefer - aka the roll those brushes come in.

Come potete vedere dall'immagine qui sopra, questo rotolo è caratterizzato da un bellissimo materiale olografico che lo fa sembrare squamoso come la coda di una sirena. La chiusura è composta da un dettaglio a conchiglia, magnetico (niente bottoni o zip, alè!). Il colore è estremamente difficile da descrivere, nonché da catturare in foto: principalmente oro, che vira al rosa o al verde in base a luce ed inclinazione.
Può contenere fino a 12 pennelli - l'unica cosa che non mi piace è che, date le cuciture ravvicinate, i pennelli viso stanno un po' stretti e le setole si comprimono a vicenda. Cosa che fortunatamente non succede coi pennelli più piccini. 
La chiusura, nonostante sia magnetica e quindi possa apparire meno salda di quanto servirebbe, in realtà è molto salda e tiene il rotolo perfettamente chiuso - insomma, si può riempire e portare in giro senza alcuna preoccupazione.

As you can see in the picture above, this brush roll features a gorgeous holographic fabric that makes a perfect mermaid scales and a magnetic, seashell closure. Its colour is quite hard both to describe and capture in pictures: mainly gold, with pink and green hues - depending on the light and angle. It can contain up to 12 brushes - the only thing I don't really like is that the face brushes bristles get squashed, because the spots are too close. But the eye, smaller brushes fits perfectly - no squashed bristles. 
The magnetic closure is strong enough to hold the roll closed in place, so you can fill it up and carry it around without worries.

~ I Pennelli / The Brushes ~

Questo set, come accennavo prima, comprende 12 pennelli: cinque sono da viso (cipria, blush, contouring, fondotinta) e sette sono più piccini (correttore, ombretto, sfumatura, sopracciglia e labbra). Rispettivamente, formano i due mini set Siren Sculpt e Siren Smoke.

I pennelli presentano manici neri, serigrafie dorate, le caratteristiche impugnature olografiche (ognuna unica e diversa dalle altre), setole teal con punta nera. Sono cruelty free e adatti ai vegani, dal momento che si tratta di setole sintetiche.

Dopo più di sei mesi di utilizzo quotidiano sono ancora come nuovi: nessun cambiamento, scolorimento, perdita di setole - niente di niente. Le setole sono ancora soffici come il primo giorno e non hanno risentito dell'uso costante e dei lavaggi frequenti. Leggo spesso di ragazze che non li usano per timore di rovinarli - ma davvero, state serene: mi è capitato di usarli con colori scurissimi, eppure le setole sono tornate allo stato originale con un semplice lavaggio veloce!

Questo set incarna perfettamente l'essenza delle sirene oscure: creature misteriose, incantatrici provenienti dagli abissi più profondi. In perfetto contrasto con il set Glam Clam, che invece rappresenta le sirene più gioiose, dai colori sgargianti.

Adesso vediamo i vari pennelli singolarmente, dopodiché toccherà ai confronti!

This set consists in 12 brushes: five face brushes (for powders, blushes, contouring and foundation) and seven smaller brushes (for concealer, eyeshadow, blending, eyebrows and lips). Which basically are the Siren Sculpt and the Siren Smoke, respectively. 

This brushes have black handles, gold writing, distinctive holographic-like ferrules and teal bristles with black tips. The bristles are synthetic, making those brushes cruelty free and vegan approved. 

After six months of daily use they still look brand new - no discolouring of any sort, no changes, no bristle loss, nothing. The bristles are still soft like velvet, they've not be affected by the constant use and weekly deep cleanings. I always read about people who are afraid to use these brushes, afraid of possibly ruining them with makeup products. Don't worry everyone, you can use these brushes safely as much as you like: I've used them with the darkest shades and products, and they came back to normal with a simple spot cleaning! 

This set fully embodies the essence of the Sirens - dark, mysterious mermaids, enchantresses from the deepest sea - in contrast to the Glam Clam, which embodies the essence of the cheerful, bright mermaids.

Now I'm going to show you each brush individually, then I'll move on to the comparisons! 

Domed Powder Brush (A01): "The super soft bristles of the Domed Powder Brush are ideal for applying a fine layer of translucent powder, or a dusting of all over bronzer. A great all round brush to leave in your handbag for touch ups, as it doesn't pick up too much product. Perfect for those on the go."

Questo è il pennello più grande di tutto il set, morbido e denso, per l'applicazione della cipria. Oltre che per tale scopo, mi piace usarlo come pennello all-over, per sfumare meglio gli elementi della base - es. nel caso applicassi un po' troppo blush. Nella descrizione c'è scritto che non preleva troppo prodotto: confermo. È una sorta di gigante buono, nonostante sia grande è facile da gestire.

The biggest brush from this set, a big, dense powder brush. Other than for finishing powders, I like to use it for finishing powder, but also as an all-over brush, to blend everything together or fix my blush if I accidentally apply to much of it. The descrisption says "it doesn't pick up too much product": true. It's big but gentle, very easy to use.

Flat Top Buffer (B01): "Change your foundation game, use to blend cream and liquid products onto the skin. The super soft bristles mean that foundation can be buffed lightly into the skin for a beautifully even finish that can be left lighter, or built up to a more full coverage look. This product is also perfect to contour the face by blending different coloured foundations into the skin seamlessly. This brush is a great multi tasker, try it for stippling powder onto shiny areas of the face or even for blending cream blush.".

Pennello a sezione rotonda e dal taglio piatto, perfetto per l'applicazione del fondotinta - qualunque sia la sua texture. Dalla descrizione si evince di come sia consigliato per i prodotti in crema e liquidi, ma funziona benissimo anche col minerale, quindi col fondo in polvere (che è quello che uso io). Le sue dimensioni non eccessive lo rendono perfetto per raggiungere qualsiasi area del viso, dalla più ampia alla più recondita.

A round, flat brush I love using for my mineral foundation. The description states that works wonderfully for cream and liquid products - I'd add that works also with powder foundation. Its dimensions are perfect to reach every zone of the face - wide or smaller. 

Flat Top Contour (C02): "A new take on our best selling Flat Top Buffer, this beauty will help to really buff and blend your contouring with precision, specifically underneath cheekbones and the jaw. Your #selfies will look all the better for it. Suitable for cream, liquid & powder formulas, build for a heavy contoured look, buff for a more natural sculpt".

Questo è senz'altro il pennello che, finora, ho usato di meno. Non perché non mi piaccia, badate bene - semplicemente perché non mi so destreggiare ancora col contouring XD Sono agli inizi, immagino che lo userò di più non appena mi impratichirò di più con la tecnica dello sculpting!

This is the brush I've used the least - not because I don't like it, simply because I'm not very skilled when it comes to contouring XD Still learning, so I guess I'll be using this brush more and more as soon as I get more used to the sculpting techniques!

Precision Blush (A05): "Create beautifully shaded and highlighted cheekbones with our Precision Blush Brush. This tool is perfect for applying a small amount of product and building to get a natural looking blended finish. An essential piece of kit, this brush will change the way you apply colour to your cheeks for the better."

Pennello da blush angolato - mai fatto mistero di non essere una fan degli angolati da blush. Comunque, dal momento che non possiedo molti pennelli per tale scopo, mi sono ritrovata ad usarlo non poco (assieme al fratello proveniente dal set Glam Clam), e non mi è dispiaciuto. È morbidissimo, non troppo grande, consente di gestire agevolmente il prodotto (sia in polvere libera che compatta), veramente a prova di imbranato/a! XD

An angles blush brush - as I've always said I'm not a fan of angled brushes when it comes to blush. Anyway, since I don't own so many blush brushes I ended up using this one (and the brother from the Glam Clam) quite a lot and enjoyed it. It's soft, not too big, controls perfectly the products (both loose or pressed powders), dummy-proof so to speak XD

Angled Powder (C04): "Create a striking contoured look with the Angled Powder. This brush is designed to apply product where it is needed to give the appearance of more defined bone structure. It is a great brush to add definition underneath the jawbone, and using broad sweeps add depth to cheekbones".

Altro pennello che usato ben poco (sempre per il discorso della mia poca destrezza col contouring). Mi è capitato di usarlo, anche in questo caso, come all-over per sfumare meglio le polveri. Necessito di apprendere come fare lo sculpting, davvero XD

Another brush I didn't use that often - when I did, it was as a big face-blender-brush to fix powders applications. I need to learn the sculpting techniques, seriously.

Precision Buffer (B03): "The best way to create a flawless coverage over dark circles and blemishes is with our buffing concealer. The super soft bristles and flat top shape mean it's the best brush to apply and blend cream concealer into the skin. For best results firstly use oval concealer to brush on product, then buff until you achieve a flawless finish." 

Ecco un pennello da correttore poco convenzionale - perlomeno per chi, come me, è più abituata a pennelli piatti classici. Funziona divinamente, anche se io uso poco il correttore (niente occhiaie, giusto qualche brufoletto occasionale). Ma, quando ne ho bisogno, utilizzo sempre questo pennello. Grazie al taglio piatto, applica e sfuma il correttore praticamente all'istante. Facile e veloce da usare, che altro?

An unconventional concealer brush - at least for those of use who are more used to flat concealer brushes. Works absolutely wonderfully, even though I rarely use concealer (no dark circles, just some random pimple/blemish) - but when I need to use it, I always reach for this brush! Its flat top applies and blends the products instantaneously. Quick and easy to use, what else?

Large Fluffy Shader (A06): "OThis little beauty is essential for creating gorgeous eye looks. Use the wide flat shape of the brush for application of powder or cream shadows to the entire lid. The large fluffy head gives a really soft blended finish, perfect for an every day eye look or use to build and blend colour for more intense finish."

Questo è il mio secondo pennello preferito di questo set. Nonostante sia decisamente troppo ciccioso e grosso per poterlo usare sulle palpebre, mi piace usarlo per applicare il colore sotto l'arcata sopraccigliare (anche più del fratello del set Glam Clam). Adoro anche usarlo per sistemare eventuali sfumature "ribelli" o per ammorbidire le transizioni. Davvero un must have per me.

My second favourite brush from this set. Way too large for my taste to be used on my lids, I love using this one (even more than the Glam Clam brother) to apply my brow bone colour. Wonderful to fix/soften blendings or transitions, also. Must have.

Angled Blender (B04): "This is one of our best selling and most versatile brushes. The perfect size and shape to create a beautifully contoured eye. Use the soft angle of the brush to add shading to the outer corners and colour fades in the crease."

Come nel caso dell'angolato da blush, non sono una fan nemmeno dei pennelli da sfumatura angolati. Questo in particolare però non mi dispiace, mi piace usarlo per i applicare i colori della piega - sostanzialmente lo uso più per le applicazioni che per le sfumature. Grazie al taglio angolato, alla morbidezza e alla giusta densità delle setole, diffonde il colore nella piega alla perfezione.

As for the angled blush brush, I'm not a fan of angled blenders too. But I like this particular one for my crease shade - more like an application brush than a blender. It's soft and thick, so it diffuse the colours on the crease very nicely.

Tall Tapered Blender (B06): "Our most popular eye blending brush, this is the ultimate tool for creating all kinds of make-up looks, from soft and romantic to full blown sexy and smokey. Use to blend out colour or build up shade in the contours of the eye, this brush can do no wrong."

Eccolo qui, il mio pennello preferito di questo set! *_* Tanto amore per lui <3 È il pennello da sfumatura a cui mi affido sempre. Perfetto in tutto: forma, dimensioni, tutto. Diffonde il colore senza sforzo, creando sfumature meravigliose. Mai. Più. Senza.

Here's my very favourite brush from this set! *_* So much love for this baby, the blender brush I rely on the most. Perfect shape, perfect size, perfect everything. It diffuse the colours effortlessly, creating gorgeous, flawless blending/transitions. Can't. Live. Without. It.

Angled Brow (A17): "This small, angled and firm brush allows for precise and even application of cream and powder products to the eyebrow, for filling, shaping and defining. This brush can also be used with gel or cream or powder products to line and define the upper and lower lash lines."

Al momento questo piccolino è il mio pennello per sopracciglia preferito. Grazie alle dimensioni ridotte e alle setole né troppo flessibili né troppo rigide, è perfetto per riempire e ridefinire le sopracciglia, sia che si usi la matita o le polveri.
L'ho provato anche come pennello da eyeliner, ma personalmente continuo a preferire pennelli a punta fine e sottile.

My favourite eyebrow brush so far. It's teeny tiny, not too soft nor too stiff - thus perfect to fill in the eyebrow, both with powders or pencils. I usually apply the pencil first, then fix the shape and fill the holes with this brush. 
I've also used it as an eyeliner brush, sometimes - but I definitely prefer thin, pointy brushes for that purpose. 

Lip Liner (A15): "The firm, flat bristles of the lip liner brush are perfect for defining and filling the lips. The tapered tip allows for precise application before filling your pout with your fave lip products"

Altro must have: questo pennellino labbra è perfetto per contornare le labbra con precisione millimetrica; torna utilissimo anche nelle lipart - che faccio raramente, ma quando capita uso sempre lui, soprattutto per i piccoli dettagli. Confesso di usarlo moltissimo anche per i look occhi: le sue dimensioni ridottissime, le setole rigide al punto giusto, lo rendono adatto per tracciare linee, creare forme particolari, o raggiungere zone difficili o molto piccole. In effetti, mi sa che lo uso come pennello occhi per la metà del tempo XD

Another must have: this lip brush is perfect to define the lip contour with extreme precision; also very useful for liparts - which I don't do very often, but when I do, I always use this little one for the small details. Must say, I also use it as a precision brush for my eyelooks: it's so small and firm, allows to draw thin lines/shapes and/or reach the smallest part of the eyes. I probably use it as an eye brush half of the time, to say the least XD

Fine Detailer (A19): "This brush is all about the detail, perfect for application of product for face, eyes or lips, this little multi-tasker works hard! Use for pin point concealer, fill brow gaps with precision, finish the finest details on an eye look, or get an ultra sharp edge to your lipstick, this is a must have brush for any perfectionist".

Infine, ecco un pennello da eyeliner - ma non solo. Infatti è davvero multiuso, cosa che mi torna utile dal momento che per l'eyeliner prediligo pennelli molto più sottili. Mi piace usarlo per i piccoli dettagli, oppure per linee grafiche non troppo sottili. Dipende dal look insomma, ma in genere si rivela essere sempre utile ed essenziale.

Not a common eyeliner brush: as the description says, this is a multitasking brush! Since I prefer finer brushes when it comes to eyeliner, I tend to use this one for small details or to draw not-too-thin, graphic lines. Depends on what the look requires, but it always end up being useful and essential.

In molti dei confronti che state per vedere, ho paragonato solo i vari pennelli Spectrum in mio possesso. Questo perché di recente ho fatto una grossa cernita, finendo col tenere quasi esclusivamente i pennelli Spectrum, un paio Real Techniques, più i nuovi di MAC e qualche altro random... E quindi si è ridotto il materiale per i confronti ^^"

In most of the following comparison, I used just other Spectrum brushes - this because I recently did a big selection and declutter of my brushes, ending up keeping almost only the Spectrum ones, a couple of Real Techniques plus some new MAC Cosmetics brushes and some old, discontinued favourites from random brands.

I due Domed Powder Brush (Siren Set/Glam Clam) sono pressoché identici, sia a livello di dimensioni che di sezione/taglio. Quello del Siren Set è leggermente più fitto e meno schiacciato alla base, ma di loro sono praticamente interscambiabili.

The two Domed Powder brushes (Siren Set/Glam Glam) are nearly identical, both in terms of dimensions and cut. The one from the Siren Set is slightly thicker and less compressed at the base - but they're basically interchangeable. 

I due Flat Top Buffer invece sono diversi a divello di dimensione e diametro: quello del set Glam Clam è visibilmente più piccino, il che lo rende un po' più preciso ed adatto a zone difficili. Personalmente li uso entrambi in egual misura, senza grossi problemi!

The two Flat Top Buffer brushes, instead, have different sizes: the Glam Clam one is way more little, making it more precise and perfect for smaller zones of the face. Personally, I just use them both with no problems!

Ho deciso di confrontare i tre angolati insieme per praticità: i due più piccoli sono i Precision Blush, quello più grande - ovviamente - l'Angled Powder. Potete vedere quanto quest'ultimo sia più grande degli altri due, il doppio direi. I due fratellini da blush non sono del tutto identici: quello del Siren Set ha un taglio decisamente più angolato, mentre quello del Glam Clam ha un taglio angolato a malapena accennato. 

Triple comparison this time - I thought it was easier to put all the three big angled brushes in the same picture. The two smaller ones are, obviously, the Precision Blush brushes while the bigger one is - clearly - the Angled Powder. As you can see by yourself, this one is waaay bigger than the blush ones. Like, it's double their size. 

Regarding the two blush brushes, they're not identical: the Siren one has a more angled cut, the Glam Clam one is barely angled.

Ecco i due Precision Brush, similissimi, interscambiabili. Non mi dispiace averne uno in più, confesso, torna sempre utile avere un doppione quando si apprezza molto un pennello!

Those are the two Precision brushes (the only two I own): very similar, almost identical, interchangeable. I don't mind having a backup actually, since I like this kind of brush quite a lot!

Ecco un confronto più corposo, finalmente! Partendo da sinistra abbiamo: il 213 di MAC Cosmetics, poi il Medium Fluffy Shader ed il Fluffy Large Shader (provenienti dal Marbleous Eye Set), il Fluffy Large Shader del Siren Set e quello del Glam Clam, ed infine il 239 di MAC Cosmetics.

Sono molto scrupolosa e pignola quando si tratta di pennelli da ombretto, al momento sto amando i due di MAC che ho inserito in foto: sono delle giuste dimensioni, uno particolarmente sottile mentre l'altro è un pochino più vaporoso, prelevano e rilasciano le polveri alla perfezione. Quelli di Spectrum, come potete vedere, sono molto più grandi e densi, motivo per cui non riesco ad utilizzarli come pennelli da ombretti veri e propri... Ma più come pennelli da sfumatura, oppure per applicare determinati colori in zone come l'arcata sopraccigliare. 

Ci vorrebbe qualcosa di morbido e con le setole flessibili, sì, ma decisamente più piccino! 

Here's a bigger comparison; from left to right: MAC Cosmetics 213, Medium Fluffy Shade and Large Fluffy Shader (both part of the Marbleous Eye Set), the Fluffy shaders from the Siren Set and Glam Clam, and lastly MAC Cosmetics 239.

I'm quite picky when it comes to eyeshadow brushes, as you can see. I'm loving the two from MAC at the moment: perfect sizes and shapes, one is more flat while the other is more fluffy - yet not too much, they both pick up the right amount of product and release it evenly on the lids. The shaders from Spectrum are way too big and thick for this purpose, that's why I always use them as blender brushes of to apply colours in wider zone like the brow bone. 

They should include something smaller, with flexible bristles, fit for the eyelids!

Di blender angolati ne ho tre: Glam Clam, Siren Set, Marbleous Eye Set. Di questi, quello più diverso dagli altri è quello della Glam Clam: taglio angolato appena accennato, sezione decisamente più sottile ed in generale meno fitto degli altri due - che risultano invece molto simili e pressoché intercambiabili. 

I have three Angled Blenders: one from the Glam Clam, the one from the Siren Set and one from the Marbleous Eye Set. The first one is quite different from the other two: it has a thinner section and a less angled cut, and is also less thick. The other two, viceversa, are fluffier and more angled - very interchangeable, too. 

Oltre ad essere pignola riguardo i pennelli da ombretto, lo sono anche per i pennelli da sfumatura. Anche in questo caso ne ho ben tre di Spectrum (sempre dai set già citati) e in questo confronto ho voluto affiancar loro due recenti new entry: il 224 (estrema sinistra) ed il 217 (estrema destra) entrambi di MAC Cosmetics.

Stavolta però non ho nulla da obiettare: i blender di Spectrum mi sono sempre piaciuti e come dicevo prima quello facente parte di questo set è uno dei miei preferiti. Ha la perfetta combinazione di morbidezza, densità e flessibilità delle setole; gli altri due sono comunque similissimi ad esso, ottimi rimpiazzi quando il favorito è da lavare.

Il 224 ha la forma a goccia un po' più pronunciata, è più grande ed ampio ma neanche lontanamente morbido quanto quelli Spectrum. Il 217 invece è morbidissimo, con una forma più allungata e la sezione più schiacciata rispetto agli altri. Dovessi sceglierne solo due, direi il blender del Siren Set e il 217 di MAC Cosmetics.

I'm also very picky when it comes to blender brushes, you know. I have three Tall Tapered Blenders from Spectrum (from the above-mentioned sets) and I added two blenders from MAC: 224 (left) and 217 (right).

This time I must say I'm very happy with Spectrum's blenders: always liked them, especially the one from the Siren Set. It has the perfect bristle size/thickness/flexibility combination. The other two are pretty similar to it anyway, it's good to have backups for when the main one is dirty and in need of a deep cleaning.

The 224 is bigger, more drop-shaped - but not even remotely as soft as the Spectrum ones, unfortunately. Not scratchy, mind you, I just can feel the different. The 217 is definitely softer, with an elongated shape and a flatter section. If I had to choose just two out of this group, I'd definitely do for the Siren Set one and the 217.

I due pennelli angolati da sopracciglia sono praticamente identici, ciò che li differenza è la rigidità delle setole: quello nero ha setole più rigide (ma non dure), perfette per gestire i prodotti da sopracciglia. L'altro le ha più elastiche e preferisco riservalo per i trucchi occhi. 

The two Eyebrow brushes are pretty similar, what makes the difference is the flexibility of their bristles: the Siren one has firmer bristles (not hard though), perfect to control eyebrow products. The other one has more flexible bristle and I prefer it as an eye brush. 

I pennellini labbra appaiono appena diversi: appena più lungo e largo uno, più fino e piccino l'altro. Li alterno costantemente, sia per le labbra che per gli occhi - motivo per cui spesso li trovate nell'elenco dei pennelli usati nei miei look occhi XD

Those two Lip brushes looks different from each other: one is taller and wider, the other one is tiny and smaller. I use them a lot, for both lips and eyes - that's why I often include them in the brushes lists in my eye looks XD

Infine, il tipo di pennelli per cui sono più pignola in assoluto: da eyeliner! Come ho detto diverse volte, non amo usare quelli angolati ma quelli a punta fine. Il mio favorito è il primo a destra, fuori produzione ormai da svariati anni. Ha setole lunghe e sezione sottilissima, perfetto per gestire qualsiasi tratto - dal più fine al più spesso, dal più semplice al più grafico. Quelli Spectrum hanno sezioni più cicciotte, tant'è che assomigliano al pennello da eyeliner di Real Techniques che si trova a sinistra. Solo che, mentre quest'ultimo non lo uso quasi mai, i due di Spectrum si rivelano sempre utili per i piccoli dettagli. Comunque li ho anche provati per l'eyeliner: promosso quello del Glam Clam, mentre quello del Siren Set è un filo troppo grosso e non mi consente di fare righe molto sottili. Fortunatamente si può usare per altri scopi ;)

Last but not least, another type of brush I'm really picky about: eyeliner ones! As I said before, I don't like angled ones, I prefer fine ones - the finest the better. My old time favourite is the one on the far right (discontinued, sadly). It had long bristles, it's so thin and sharp - can trace both teeny tiny lines but also can be used for more graphic designs. The Spectrum ones are rounder and thicker - look more like the Real Techniques eyeliner brush (far left) - which I never use, to be honest. But I like the Spectrum ones as little detailing brushes, they're always useful. Of course I've tried them both as proper eyeliner brush, and I must admit I liked the Glam Clam one! While the Siren Set one is a tad too big and I can't trace thin lines with it. Thankfully it is a multitasking brush ;D

L'unico motivo per cui ho tolto mezzo punto è stato il prezzo: sin dall'inizio l'ho trovato un po' alto, specialmente se paragonato al Glam Clam che costa trenta sterline meno, ha solo due pennelli in meno ma ha una custodia decisamente più iconica. Avrei giustificato questo prezzo se i pennelli del set fossero stati quindici, invece di dodici. (Questione matematica, essendo 12 a questo prezzo praticamente vengono circa 7,50 £ l'uno... Mentre facendo lo stesso calcolo con il Glam Clam singolarmente vengono 5,99 £ ciascuno. Se invece fossero stati 15 sarebbero costati anche loro 5,99 £, rendendo così il prezzo equo. Senza contare che, comunque, il Glam Clam ha la custodia più sirenosa di sempre u.u)

A parte questo, comunque, per me questo set è assolutamente promosso: l'ho adorato fin da subito e continuo ad adorarlo a distanza di mesi. Lo trovo perfetto come regalo: credetemi, fa un figurone sotto l'albero di Natale ;D 

The only reason I didn't give 6/6 is because of the price: a tad too expensive, in my opinion. Especially if you compare it to the Glam Clam, which costs 30£ less, has just two brushes less but has the most iconic mermaid clutch ever. This high price would have been understandable if this set contained 15 brushes instead of just 12. (Let's do some math: 12 brushes for 89,99 £ means each one costs 7.50 £. But, the Glam Clam ones - 10 for 59,99 - cost 5,99 each. So, if the Siren Set included 15 brushes, each one would cost 5,99 £ - fair price. And still, the Glam Clam comes in a more iconic clutch u.u)

Apart from this, anyway, this is absolutely a set I recommend: I immediately loved it and still do after all these months. I think it's perfect as a gift: trust me, it looks great under the Christmas Tree (or into the stocking!) ;D
