Happy #MermaidMonday everyone! :D

I have another mermaid look for you today - I made it a couple of weeks ago, to try out more of the Makeup Geek eyeshadows I got for my birthday. I chose to use all the blue and green shades I had, and I also tried to use one of the shadows as eyeliner. This look reminds me so much of the sea - and I named it "Colours of the Sea" as a mermaid tribute to Pocahontas' Colors of the Wind song ♥

I started off, as always, by applying eyeprimer all over my lid (Too Faced's Shadow Insurance Original). I applied Makeup Geek eyeshadow in Poolside on  about 3/4 of the lid - on the remaining quarter, I applied NABLA's eyeshadow in Under Pressure. Those two shades got along so well, creating a simple and gentle gradient. On the crease I applied NABLA's Eternity shadow first, blending it with Poolside and Under Pressure. I adjusted the blending by using MUG eyeshadow in Boo Berry - which I applied on both crease and outer corner, creating a smooth shade. Not really a curved, C shape - yet not a pointy, V shape either... Something in between! As transition shade, I used NABLA's Fossil shadow.

On the lower lid I used a totally different colour/shadows scheme. First of all, I applied MUG shadow in Shore Thing; over it, I applied another shade by MUG - Dragonfly. Getting closer to the lashline, I applied MUG shadow in Neptune - which I'll later use as eyeliner.
On the lashline, I applied (as usual) NABLA eyeshadow in Nocturne. I then adjusted the blending by adding some more Shore Thing.
On the inner corner I applied MUG Foiled Eyeshadow in Pegasus. I am so in love with this shadow ♥___♥

For the eyeliner, instead of my usual black, I decided to go for a blue shade. I chose Neptune for this purpose: I gently "scratched" the pan with a brush, gathered the powder on a small plate and then added some drops of Fix +. By doing so, I obtained a bright, matte blue liner ready to use! *_*
I drew my usual winged line - thicker than usual, actually. I wanted it to stand out!
I applied NABLA's Antique White eyeshadow on my brow bone (as I always do); then I applied a black eyepencil on my waterlines, added false lashes and applied mascara on both upper and lower lashes. And that's it!

This look came out so pretty I didn't want to remove it at the end of the day XD I'm glad I managed to use almost all the shades I got (basically the only one I didn't use are Chit Chat, Fashion Addict and Hopscotch - all on the lilac/purple/periwinkle side of the spectrum). Also, even though I really love winter - this year I am really missing summer and I can't wait for it to come already! Luckily, this look helped and made me feel relieved... After all, sea/summery/mermaid looks are always appropriate, all year round - don't you think? ;D

Today I'm going to talk about a product that I've been using and loving so, so much lately. I used it in almost each and every makeup look I created during the last two months... Please give a round of applause to the Dazzle Liner in Klimt by NABLA Cosmetics - aka my current makeup obsession.

(It usually takes me a long time to write a review. I need to test everything in both summer AND winter time, because my skin changes depending on the temperatures - and so do my needs. But, since this is a limited edition product, by the time I'll be ready to write a full review, it will be most likely gone... But this product really deserves a dedicated post. So I had to find a compromise, and that's where the Part of my World series comes in. I created this series two years, and it's intended to gather all my first impressions regarding a product/collection/etc. I haven't been "using" it in a while actually, but I blew the dust off it recently and I realized it still works for first impressions/preliminary reviews like this one.) 

So without further ado, let's get started! 

"Klimt is a red gold eyeliner, lightly duochrome and extremely pigmented. 

Liquid gold with a chromatic effect in a mirrored texture which enhances the look with bright and sumptuous warm reflections. Ideal to frame the eyes or to create small decorative details, like filigree, which embellish the look by interpreting it in a unique and exclusive way. 

Romantic and iconic as “The Kiss” by Klimt."

Klimt is the very first (and not the last, I hope!) Dazzle Liner NABLA ever released. It is part - actually, I'd say it's the cherry on top - of their winter collection, the Goldust Collection (haul here).

The packaging is simple and essential, yet stylish. The clear pack shows the product in all its beauty, while the cap is black and decorated with a design in perfect Art Déco style. Inside, the cap comes with a small wand with a teeny tiny brush at the end. 

I can't even express how much I waited and hoped for NABLA to create liquid liners. So, when they announced their winter collection, the very first thing that caught my attention was Klimt - no wonder. Finally, an eyeliner! In such a stunning and unique shade, also. I was over the moon to say the least. Unfortunately, NABLA made Klimt a limited edition product - a very poor decision in my opinion. 

The formula, to me, is perfect: not too dense, not too liquid. Dries fast and, once dried, it won't move, fade, crease or wear away. It'll just stick to the skin, lasting hours and hours - from morning till night. And, since it's so light, you might even forget you're wearing it. It's not that kind of heavy products you can feel all the time, if you know what I mean. Most importantly, it's highly pigmented and rich. 

It is quite resistant to both water and rubbing (unless you start rubbing your eyes furiously, of course). It's not supposed to be waterproof - but my tests so far showed that it can withstand water, within certain limits of course. For example, one day I was wearing it at the hairdresser, who accidentally poured some water on my eyes. When I checked my makeup at the mirror, I noticed that Klimt was still there, intact. 

Application is incredibly easy, thanks to the formula but also thanks to the fine brush. It is SO thin (as you can see in the picture on the right) and the bristles are reasonably flexible. It picks up just the right amount of product you need. Overall, it is perfect to achieve the classic winged liner, but also to draw any kind of lines, swirls and dots.

Another thing I absolutely love about this product, is that it doesn't affect or gets affected by other liners. Meaning, if you can safely apply Klimt on top of a black/any colored liner, it won't get altered or alter the colour underneath in any way.
If NABLA manages to nail this very same formula in other shades, then they'll have an excellent new range to offer! (I really, really hope that Klimt won't end up being an only child!)

Back to Klimt. It's colour is absolutely divine. A gorgeous, eye-catching, sparkling gold with red hues in it. I've never seen this particular shade of gold in an eyeliner, it's so unique - also because it slightly changes depending on lighting and angle/viewpoint. See swatch below.

My only complain about this product is... it being a limited edition. I honestly don't get it. I mean: it's unique in terms of, well, everything; it's high quality, the best piece of the collection, hopefully the first of a new range... And it's not permanent. *slow clapping*

Seriously though... I just don't see how a product with all the qualities listed above could be limited edition. 

I know that the shade might not be universally appreciated - it's uniqueness can be a double-edged sword (loved by those who like this kind of colours, skipped by those who prefer more classic or more natural shades)... Nevertheless, I do believe Klimt 100% deserves to be a permanent product!

I'm not officially rating this product because this not a full review - I still need to test it during summertime & warm temperature. Sadly, by the time I'll be able to do that, it'll be sold out and discontinued. Sigh.

Normalizing Light Face Cream ~ Bio Marina: this is something I'm going to need very very soon, since I'm running low on my current face cream. It's a very gentle cream that, most likely, won't be too heavy during summer and hydrating enough during winter (perfect combo for my skin).

Bohemian Ruby Balancing Toner ~ Leahlani Skincare: Listing this for just a little bit of daydreaming. In theory this could be a toner for me, absolutely: meant for sensitive/delicate/dry skins, it has a very calming and soothing formula - plus, each bottle contains a Rose Quartz gemstone inside. How cute is that?
Unfortunately, it's quite unlikely that I'll purchase it. Why? Because of its price - I honestly cannot spend 32 € on just one product. 

~ Face Serum ~ 

Happily sticking to Biofficina's one, I've being using and repurchasing it for about two years and I don't feeling like switching to something else. 

~ Face Mask ~

Mermaid Mask ~ Leahlani Skincare: Just like the toner, I'm listing this mask just for fun, as it's quite expensive too (35 €). I swear I didn't listed it just for the name XD It's a purifying, cleansing and softening mask meant to be a treat for all skin types.

~ Make Up Remover (Eyes) ~ 

Not willing to change my current one (Biofficina Toscana's Micellar Solution) as it's simply perfect for my needs - it doesn't sting, it's not oily and removes any kind of makeup products. 

~ Make Up Remover (Face) ~ 

See above, as I always use the same remover for both eyes and face. 

~ Lip Balm ~ 

I miss so so much my beloved Hemp Coconut lip balm by Epic Blend - I haven't been able to purchase it again yet, because it's still sold out at the local bio shop. While I wait for it to be back in stock, I'll just keep trying random lip balms. 

~ Lip Scrub ~ 

Nothing to mention. Still loving Biofficina's one :D

Same as above. I found my ideal hair conditioner (Protecting Volumising Conditioner by Biofficina Toscana) and I won't change it no matter what.

Currently looking for a mask - something nourishing but not heavy. The lighter, the better. Suggestions?

Shea Butter Shaving Cream ~ Bio Marina: I need this asap. And I really mean it. I've been using a shaving gel by Gillette lately - since Bio Marina is not available in my city and I need to plan an online order, I thought I'd use that one (which is my mom's actually) meanwhile. Bad bad BAD idea. It dried my skin so badly, I need to switch to another shaving gel seriously as soon as possibile. 

~ Sunscreen ~ 

Not willing to try anything no. Very, VERY willing to buy again my beloved Alga Maris sunscreen - which is my holy grail sunscreen and I honestly think I won't be able to survive another summer without it. 

Make Up

~ Face Primer ~ 

Nothing. I'll just repurchase Couleur Caramel's one before summer. Mind you, I still have some - but it kind of dried out ç_____ç

~ Foundation ~ 

I must admit that, after years of mineral foundations, I'd like to try something different - a liquid foundation, to be more precise. Preferably one with a green inci (or at least with no silicone in it), with a light texture... But I have no clue what to choose ^^"

I ran out of my MAC Cosmetics Studio Finish Concealer - but, even though I liked it, I probably won't buy it again. It's too expensive - keep in mind that I don't need concealer on my under-eye, just only when I get some pimples... So it's not a product I use on a daily basis. That's why I'd like something cheaper. I'm considering Purobio's concealer - but I need to examine it in depth before purchasing.

Lipstick in L.A. Woman ~ Defa Cosmetics: I'm really curious about this relatively new brand (born and based in my same region, Sicily). I swatched their lipsticks at the local bio shop and this shade caught my attention. (There were more that I liked actually but this is the only colour I remember clearly)

The only thing that concerns me is their formula. When I swatched the testers I noticed that the sticks were quite hard. I don't know whether it was just the testers, or a problem due to the low temperature, or if that's how the lipsticks really are. I need to figure this out.

Sparklers ~ Makeup Geeks Cosmetics: saw them while browsing on their site, looking for inspiration for my wishlist. I might invest in one of them someday - most likely Milky Way, the silver/rainbow one.

Another brand that makes glitters (so-many-shades) is Lit Cosmetics - I always see their glitter all over Instagram. The thing that holds me back is that is an USA based brand and I'd prefer to buy inside Europe (to avoid custom fees).

Mermaid Palette ~ KG Beatuy: I've recently seen this eyeshadow palette on Instagram and, needless to say, I suddenly fell in love ♥_♥ KG Beauty is a brand new... brand (sorry for the play on words XD) and apparently this will be their very first product. This brand is based in the US too, so this might be the exception to the rule (aka try to avoid outside-Europe purchases).

Tattoo Liner in Trooper ~ Kat Von D: I see this eyeliner literally all around Instagram, on a daily basis. Its reputation precedes it, I've seen sooo many gorgeous looks featuring this liner... And I definitely want to try it, since eyeliner is a must for me *_*
Since Kat Von D is supposed to launch in Italy this spring, I hope I'll be able to get is easily!

Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn ~ Anastasia Beverly Hills: thanks to NABLA's Brow Pot, I realized that I prefer gel over pencils. Thing is, I really need to find a shade fit for red hair. This one by ABH is my only candidate at the moment - and still I'm not 100% sure the shade is right. I'm afraid it could be not enough red for a redhead... I guess I'll just take the plunge and see how it goes.

Fiji ~ Essie: the more I look at it, the more I think this is the perfect shade of pink for me. I tried different shades of pink (from different brands) but none of them was what I was looking for. Brush Holder with Drawers: saw this on Instagram and I think it could be really helpful to store those brushes I don't use daily. I keep my most used ones in my Ariel mug, while the others in another holder - and thus they're victim of the dust :\ But this holder would protect them perfectly - and it's quite stylish too!

Mermaid Tail Scrub/Brush Soap ~ Spectrum Collections: this is an unreleased product so far - but I'm already sooo curious. I've never heard of a scrub for brushes. Might be useful for those hard-to-clean, perhaps.
