February Favourites and Disappointments

MILANI Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer
00A Porcelain
I've shared how impressed I was with this foundation in the review for the original lightest shade 01, which was actually my darkest foundation, but now I finally got the new palest shade, confusingly named 00A (because they already screwed up with 00) and it's a winner. I'm always delighted at the discovery of very pale shade and this one is a good one, roughly about NW10, but so far the closest shade to neutral I own (it's still a bit pink, though it's more peach, swatches in here). It fits me perfectly which for a medium coverage foundation is quite important. The formula is thick, it could almost be a cream foundation, so I apply it in sections, but it looks better on the skin than other medium coverage foundations I tried.

MAC Eyeshadow
Patina
I started using eyeshadows after quite a while, so I've been enjoying exploring my old favourites and Mac Patina just wins. I've had it for ages and I still haven't found a dupe that would look as good as this. It's a pale shade, so if your skin tone is above NC/W30 this might not show up well, but it's an antique gold shade with a satin finish, you can see it swatched here. I love combining it with gold-green shades like Gilded Ganache in Too Faced Chocolate Palette, since they just go together so well. I've never considered Mac eyeshadows to be some of the best despite their popularity because they aren't as soft and creamy and some others, but this is the shade I think everyone with a light skintone should own because it's so unique and so pretty.

THEBALM Girls Getaway Trio Long-Wearing Bronzer/Blush
I've wanted this for so long, though actually I wanted Balm Springs and Balm Beach in their individual forms, but in a palette it's even better. Balm Springs is the brightest here and different than you'd expect based on its muted pink appearance in the pan. It swatches peachy-orange, so it looks coral on the cheeks. Balm Beach is unexpectedly a lot more my colour and it's pinkier than Balm Springs, so it's a nice muted pinky-peach shade - so far it's my favourite in the palette. The last Balm Desert is a unique shade because it's like bronzer-meets-blush shade, since it's like you'd mix a bronzer with a rosy blush. I need to apply it with a light hand, but it works. I'm now checking into even more theBalm blushes, particularly their Instains.

THEBALM Meet Matt(e) Hughes
Sincere
My fourth Meet Matte Hughes - yup I'm still a big fan of these and they remain my favourites because they are perfectly matte and last well on the lips. Sincere is one of the shades that was released about a year ago and it's a less "bright" cousin of Committed. The latter is muted mix of peach and pink, while Sincere swatches almost brown and on the lips looks like a less peachy version of Committed, so a pinky brown. If I apply it really neatly, I feel like it makes my lips look a bit bigger, so I know I'll wear it a lot.

LANCÔME Matte Shaker liquid lipstick
Beige Vintage
This was one of my rare splurges, but I wanted to really treat myself for my birthday and I'm really happy with this one. While the concept is fun, I wasn't completely swayed by it and I bought this because I liked the shade, while I was a bit apprehensive about the whole shaking bit and the big applicator, but all together it works out great. This is quite a unique type of matte liquid lipstick because the formula is so smooth that you can use it as a stain which tints the lips and creates a very natural look, but if you decide to apply it in a more generous coat (you need to shake the bottle a bit more, so you get more product) you get a fully opaque, super smooth formula. But the best part is the gorgeous shade. I've been a fa of Nude-ist for years, but I've never found something similar, only more muted versions of the shade. This is one of those cute muted, but still vibrant enough peachy-pinks that lifts the complexion and creates a very fresh look. It was so worth it.

MAX FACTOR Honey Lacquer
Honey Nude
After several years it finally happened that I bought a lip gloss, though I had one of these before, but because it was sent to me I didn't get to pick the colour. I fell in love with the comfy, balm formula of these and I wanted a wearable shade that I'll love. Honey Nude is so pretty, very wearable and I'm sure it's a shade that would fit so many because its semi-opaque and it somehow enhances your natural lip colour. The packaging is so pretty too.

REVLON Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor
Embrace
My other comfortable lip product. I've had Devotion for a year or two and it's one of my most worn lip products, not just because of the comfortable formula, but also because it smells so nice (though this one has a slightly more cookie vanilla smell than the first shade I got). It's an opaque liquid lipstick with a creamy shine and it's doesn't really set matte, thought I noticed this one wears off to a less creamy version faster than Devotion. Embrace is a nude peachy shade with some pink and it's not my ideal shade, but it's closest to what I wanted from the shades they have and I'm sure I'll wear it tons.

LEE JIHAM DR.'s Care Vita-Propolis Ampoule
I found my replacement for Banilla Miss Flower Mr Honey Essence Oil. This is actually much lighter than the latter and also not sticky, so I think I like it even more. I'm still trialling things, but when I used this in combination with my basic skin care and Nuxe oil, my skin looked noticeably better than with other skin care, it was also clear and had a nice healthy glow. When I started using it with other products, it again produced the same results, so I'm quite happy with this. The only think that sucks is that it's only available in 15 ml bottles and it's going to run out fast, which isn't that great when I think how long it takes for stuff to come from Korea.

BATH AND BODY WORKS Bubble Bath
Champagne Apple & Honey
This scent just grew on me. I've never been much of an apple scent fan, but this smells so close to real apples, it's just a bit sweeter. I became a bit obsessed with the scent, so I checked our drugstores for something similar and we barely have anything with apples, and nothing is as nice as this. I've used it both as a shower gel and a bubble bath, and I really like it as the latter because it foams well, plus it made the whole house smell like apples. This was a limited edition, but it's still sold on eBay and Amazon and I think BBW has something similar, as I heard some good things about their country apple line.

BALEA Duschschaum
Hawaiian Dream
I've already used up the Fresh & Fruity version and this is another lovely one. It's got a nice sweet floral scent that's probably one of Balea's most simple fragrances and one you don't get tired of quickly. The foam is again lovely and based on my experience with the Fresh & Fruity, I know the can will last quite a while.

I've been spraying this every day, it's just such a wonderful scent for the season, as it's a warm and cosy fragrance like a warm fluffy cardigan. It's a woody, musky, a bit coconutty and vanillary fragrance that's not sugary sweet, but nicely creamy. I'm really loving this at the moment and I'm glad it exists in such a big bottle.

DISAPPONTMENT

THE FACE SHOP Rice Water Bright Rich Cleansing Oil
This was such a disappointment, though admittedly I expected a lot. I heard it's a powerful makeup remover, but this is so weak that it barely removes/dissolves any mascara and I end up with the worst panda eyes, so I need to use a separate remover (micellar) on top of already using a gel cleanser after oil. It also broke me out, but that's a problem specific to me. It might be nice if you don't wear makeup and you just need something to remove sunscreen at the end of the day, but I'm very disappointed with this. Also this is heavily scented with a baby powder scent - I like it, those sensitive to scents won't.

Have a great day!

What I'm Not Buying: Lime Crime Venus XL

Lime Crime has released their latest palette, which is an extra large version of their popular Venus palette, aptly named Venus XL.

And I won't be buying.

I have never received so many requests to write an anti-haul post, and I'm sorry it has taken me a while to get to it. However, it was thrilling to receive so many requests, and I just want to thank everyone who either messaged me, commented, or tagged me in a post on Instagram.

Part of the reason that it took me so long to write this post is that when I first saw the Venus XL, I really, really wanted to purchase it. And I wanted to make sure that I was confident in my decision not to before writing this post. The original Venus palette has been a favorite of mine (though it has since been depotted), and the expansion of the XL palette is really gorgeous.

Lime Crime has definitely been one of the most controversial brands in recent years (we will get into that more later), but they produce some of the most beautiful makeup items. And Venus XL is no exception.

I knew I shouldn't buy this palette, that I had all of these colors already, but I was still tempted by it. And despite everything that I have learned and that I have written about in this blog, I still felt pulled in by the color scheme. But then I faced reality. Yes, this is a gorgeous palette. But I truly have all of these colors already.

Let's look at the original Venus palette:

And Venus XL:

What's nice about this palette is that there aren't any repeat shades from the original Venus palette. So if you already own Venus, there won't be any overlap. But with that said, I think there are several shades in Venus that absolutely should be in this palette, especially since this is a "Venus XL" palette. Most specially, I think "Venus", "Rebirth," and "Muse" should have been included. There are certainly shades that are comparable in Venus XL, but I think it's really lacking those deep red shades and a bright coral.

The most obvious palettes in my collection that dupe this color scheme are my duped/edited Desert Dusk palette:

And my duped Just Peachy Mattes palette:

Between these two palettes, I have every single shadow in Venus XL duped. And this is obviously why I was so drawn to it—it's clearly a color scheme that I love. These two palettes are arguably my top favorites in my entire collection, and it would be so pointless for me to buy another palette just to have all these colors again.

Let's look at swatches:

It's funny because swatches are supposed to help sell a palette, but I've recently found that they do the opposite for me. When I see pictures of the palette and see the colors organized in a certain way, I feel so drawn to it. But when I see swatches, I feel like I am brought back into reality. Because these are all very basic colors. In fact, I would say that my two palettes above easily have more unique colors than this palette.

Added to that, there are so many colors in here that look incredibly similar. My guess is that "Passion", "Aphrodite", "Nu Classic", "Celestial", "Triumph", and "Supreme" would all look very similar once applied onto the eye. Same with "Eden", "Inspire", and "Goddess."

And when you look at it that way, it seems there are only 10 unique colors in Venus XL: dark pink, bronze, berry, mauve, hot pink, brown, orange, light pink, cream, and dark brown/plum. Meaning, there are about eight shades in this palette that are repeats. And even then, there are three different shades of pink included in the "unique" shade count.

There are countless palettes that look like Venus XL, including, Jeffrey Star Blood Sugar:

Huda Beauty Rose Gold:

Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions:

Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts:

Violet Voss Hashtag:

Violet Voss Holy Grail:

Natasha Denona Lila:

And Colourpop She:

My guess is that due to the success of palettes like Huda Beauty Desert Dusk:

And, of course ABH Modern Renaissance:

Lime Crime wanted to be included in the conversation again. I've said this previously, but before Modern Renaissance was released, Venus was a huge hit and was sold out for long stretches of time. However, Lime Crime has not been included in the conversation in a while, and while some of that had to do with Lime Crime being a slightly lesser known indie brand, it was largely because they had a huge string of controversies, and big influencers publicly boycotted them.

And so when everyone was praising Modern Renaissance for having this really unique color scheme, people weren't really hearing about Venus, which came first and has a similar color scheme without all the boring (in my opinion) neutral shades.

It's common knowledge that when one brand has a huge success with a new product that is trending, most brands will scramble to come out with something in a similar color scheme. A few years ago, when the major palettes were Urban Decay Naked and Too Faced Chocolate Bar, having an orange shadow would have been "too bold" for a neutral palette. But after the success of Modern Renaissance (which has an orange shadow), Urban Decay came out with Naked Heat, Tarte came out with Tartelette Toasted, and we even have Colourpop Yes, Please!, which is a palette I can't see being popular only a few years ago.

But I think Lime Crime is just too late to this trend, which is interesting because, in a way, they started it. When I first learned of the original Venus palette and heard it was popular and selling out, I looked at it and thought, Who would ever want to wear those colors?! I would constantly look like I have pink eye!

Little did I know that in a few years, those would be my "go-to" shades.

But I kept looking at Venus and wanted to know why it was so popular. And eventually, I wanted it too. Even after I had it, I didn't know what to do with it. I was so used to only wearing light neutral shadows (I even remember when I started wearing gold and thinking I was so bold!) that the colors in Venus were so intimidating. But now, those colors have been trending for a while, and I don't think Lime Crime could just say, "Hey, remember us and our Venus palette that's several years old?" Instead, they came out with a new one that was only different because it was bigger, repeating shades several times over.

I think a lot of this has to do with Lime Crime trying to come back from controversy. It's worth investigating if you don't know the story (I recommend this Racked article), but Lime Crime founder Doe Deere has had a tremendous amount of controversy surrounding her, and everything culminated in a 2015 data breach that compromised thousands of consumers' personal and financial information.

Doe Deere also started attacking consumers on social media and in private messages, including this well-known message sent to a customer:

Following this, the boycotts began, and eventually, Doe Deere stepped away from being the public face of the company (though she is still the CEO). To my knowledge (I could be wrong), Lime Crime hasn't had any recent controversies, but they are certainly one of those brands who you need to make a personal decision regarding if you want to support them or not.

Personally, I have owned the Venus palette. It has since been depotted, and I only kept a few of the shades. My palette was purchased before I knew about all of the controversy surrounding the brand, and it was purchased from Urban Outfitter, which is an authorized retailer of Lime Crime makeup. With that said, I personally have difficulty buying from Lime Crime.

Lime Crime has made a point to say that they have greatly improved their security since the 2015 breach, but, whenever shopping online, I aways recommend paying through PayPal or a similar service instead of directly entering credit card information. I do feel that the brand is moving in a generally more positive direction, especially since Doe Deere isn't directly in charge of social media and isn't personally attacking consumers, but I have to admit that is an incredibly low bar.

I also know that it is nearly impossible to find any brand that doesn't have something ugly in its history. I'm not excusing that, just saying that it is a sad reality. And people need to make personal judgements on who they support and who they don't.

It has been a few years since the height of Lime Crime's controversies, but I am still left with poor feelings toward the brand.

Brining it back to the Venus XL palette, I feel largely the same way I felt about the Jeffree Star Blood Sugar palette. It's a color scheme that I am certainly drawn to, but it is also one that I already own. And at this point, you probably do too. I also feel like this palette will only be able to create a few distinct looks. And for $56 plus tax (shipping is free for orders over $50), I would want to create a variety of looks.

Frankly, if you are willing to buy from Lime Crime, love this color scheme, and don't already own these colors, I would instead recommend buying the original Venus palette. It's $38, has all of these colors, and doesn't repeat any shade. You can also purchase Venus through a few third-party retailers if you don't want all of your money to go directly to Lime Crime. With that said, those retailers also have problematic histories, which brings me back to the point about almost every brand having something unsavory about them.

Overall, I think the best option would be to buy a few singles from Make Up For Ever, Makeup Geek, or Colourpop, such as Come and Get It, 143, Making Moves, Stay Golden, Wait For It, and Slim Fit.

In general, I found that I'm not too impressed with this release by Lime Crime. And I know I said that I wanted to purchase it when I first saw it, but when I think about Venus and Venus II, Venus XL feels uninspired and lazy. The Venus palettes were ABH Modern Renaissance and Subculture before those palettes even existed and the color schemes were made popular. I always felt Lime Crime was ahead of all the other makeup brands and trends, but now it seems they are trying to undo some of the damage caused by the 2015 boycott and are pandering to the makeup-obsessed who will continually buy what they already own. I have certainly fallen into that category in the past, but I am happy to say that I no longer feel that way.

Venus XL doesn't bring anything new or different to my makeup collection, and if I had to choose between it and my duped/edited Desert Dusk palette, I would choose my palette any day. There are too many options available at a lower cost for me to spend upwards of $60 on this palette. I don't need it, and I'm not going to buy it.

The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquid

Matte liquid lipsticks are some of my favourite beauty products and I've done a post with 14 different ones a few months ago, so I was excited to try The Body Shops' formula too. These aren't my favourite ever (still theBalm), but they have the type of formula that's similar to NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, meaning they could be suited for dry lips too. I have three shades that were a part of the Christmas gift offering, but all the shades and more (17 in total) are available individually.

Texture and finish: Formula of these is like I said before similar the mousse texture of NYX, also Bourjois' are somewhat similar. They aren't as pigmented as others, which is most apparent at the darkest shade and they need more time to dry, but they do to a perfect matte finish. To me they don't feel drying, but like I said a million times so far, don't ask me if they are nice on dry lips, so check the review of my fellow blogger Lana who praised them for their comfort.

Winsor Rose

Windsor Rose is a warm, peachy-nude shade that is one of those Mac Velvet Teddy-ike shades that looks very peachy on pale skins and the darker the skin is, the more pinky-beige it looks. It applies with not problems and evenly.

Nairobi Camelia

Nairobi Camelia is a muted medium warm peachy pink. It's the type of shade I wear a lot, but it's again a shade that looks much more peachy on me than it will on someone with a darker skin tone. It applies with not problems and evenly.

Mauritius Dahlia

Mauritius Dahlia is a deep cool burgundy. I'm not a fan of the formula because it's got a weak pigmentation meaning the first coat is a stain and you have to wait for it to dry if you want to apply a second coat and get an opaque pigmentation because otherwise the lipstick shifts and you get a very uneven finish. TheBalm's Adoring is vastly superior to this and the only close such annoying formula I know of is Bourjois Grand Cru. You can make it work, it just takes time and patience, plus a matching lipliner.

Staying power: These don't last as long on the lips as their competition. Again they remind me most of NYX and while they survive drinking, food is a bigger challenge. They don't disappear completely, but they also don't stay intact. Still as with almost all liquid matte lipstick you get several hours of wear time and they outlast most regular lipsticks.

Packaging: Yet again a very similar packaging to NYX. They come in a similar opaque tube with a rubberised cap which attracts dirt. The applicator is a doe foot with a cut design, which could be a bit better shapes, but it's fine.

Scent: these have a vanilla scent.

Price and availability: They cost 8.90 € per tube.

These feel like a slightly improved version of NYX because they have a bit more pigmentation, but in almost every other respect, all down to the scent, they are so similar. Due to that they might be nice for those with dry lips, but don't expect any care from them, it just means they don't feel tight on the lips because they don't form a layer and they take longer to dry.

New in #67

MILANI Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer
00A Porcelain
I have the original "lightest" shade 01 Creamy Vanilla that I got as a part of my job a long time ago and I fell in love with the formula, but the shade is just nowhere close to being right for me, so when they finally released a super pale one (on their third try, hence the odd numbering), I vowed to get it. It took a while, but I finally ordered it as a birthday gift for myself and I can report the happy news that this is one of the best shades for me that I ever found. It's pretty much up there with Maybelline Fit me 110/100 and it's close in how light it is, while the undertone is pink-ish, though this is the most neutral foundation I own so far which is what makes it so great (swatches). Milani you were a massive disappointment from the start, but on your third try you bloody nailed it. Great job! I have a full review of this formula already of that other shade, but briefly I'll just say it's my favourite medium coverage foundation and I like it because it looks the best on the skin out of all such foundations I tried.
Click2Chic, 12.49 €

I got this just because it was better to get something for a few euros instead of paying for shipping, but this is my favourite waterproof mascara and I already used up a few, plus I'm using one now, so this is a back-up. It gives tones of volume, it makes the lashes look so great and it keeps them curled all day. Also compared to the most recent waterproof mascara I tried, Covergirl The Super Sizer, it's sooo much easier to remove, but survives the same.

THEBALM Girls Getaway Trio Long-Wearing Bronzer/Blush
The Balm has my favourite formula of blushes along with L'Oreal, but their two of the most popular shades I own, Hot Mama and Frat Boy, are both quite bright, summery shades, so when they finally released more toned down shades that I like to wear, first Balm Beach and then Balm Springs, I put them on my wishlist. Then they made my dreams come true by putting both in one palette along with their bronzer-meet-blush shade Balm Desert and I finally bought the palette a couple of weeks ago. Balm Springs is a different shade than it appears in the pan, as it's a lot more peachy, so it ends up quite coral on the cheeks. Balm Beach is a light pinky-peach shade that's actually more pink than Balm Springs and the last shade, Balm Desert is a rosy bronze shade that looked a bit scary to me at first, but I can wear it applied gently as a blush/contour. First two shades are matte and Balm Desert has a satin finish.

THEBALM Meet Matt(e) Hughes
Sincere
I already have three of these from before and I often say that this is my favourite matte liquid lipstick formula. Sincere was released over a year ago and in my typical manner I waited forever to get it because that's just who I am, overthinking every purchase. It's a less pinky-peachy version of Committed and it's an even more muted a pink/rosy-brown combination, thought there is little of true pink in it. It's one of those colours that defines my lips and somehow make them look a bit plumper/bigger, so I'm enjoying that part. I can see myself wearing it a lot, though Committed is still my favourite. Formula is the same as that of Committed and Charming, meaning it dries perfectly matte in about 5 minutes, it lasts really well on the lips and it has the same After Eight scent as the others.

LANCÔME Matte Shaker liquid lipstick
Beige Vintage
I've been checking this one out for a while, but I deemed the price too high, then I finally decided to just take the plunge and buy it. I'm so happy I did because this is very similar to one of my favourite shades ever Bourjois Nude-ist, it's in fact the only such similar shade I found. The whole concept is entertaining - you need to shake the bottle a lot, so the colour collects in the place where the applicator sits and then apply it with a big sponge applicator, which is a lot less clumsy than it looks. It's not quite as pigmented as other liquid lipsticks, but it can be build up and due to that light formula, it has a similar effect as NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, meaning it look so natural on the lips. It needs about 5 minutes to dry perfectly matte, even though when I first tried it I thought it won't dry at all. It feels about the same on the lips as NYX's, so not tight or heavy at all. Shade is beautiful, I'll probably wear this to death just like Nude-ist, as it's a muted peachy-pink shade that I think would suit so many. Great buy, just like everything I got for my birthday.

MAX FACTOR Honey Lacquer
Honey Nude
I don't even remember when was the last time I bought a lip gloss. Those few I have were given to me, apart from L'Oreal Extraordinary ones, which I love, and actually this Max Factor one in the shade Honey Rose was also sent to me, I just disliked the shade, but adored the formula. So I bought one in a shade I'll love to wear because this is so comfortable on the lips, so I use it instead of a lip balm during the day. Honey Nude is a pinky-brown shade - very simple and easy to wear. I bought it online because 10 € for a gloss is crazy and I picked the shade Honey Nude which is so nice, so another lip product I'll wear a lot. This is a pigmented lip gloss that has a semi-opaque coverage and a nice level of creamy shine. The packaging is of course gorgeous and another big plus at this gloss.
Salma, 4.92 €

REVLON Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor
Embrace
Just like Honey Lacquer above I got this in another shade already, but one I picked myself though it was also sent to me and I wear it so much. They've since expanded the shade range a lot and Devotion that I have from before is no longer one of only two lightest shades, in fact I always considered it quite bright, so I picked Embrace because I wanted something nude and easy to wear with anything and for any occasion. Shade is a muted peachy nude that's leaning to pink. It's another super comfortable formula, seriously these feels so nice on the lips and they smell amazing like vanilla-chocolate-strawberry ice cream (Planica). Formula is fully opaque, but these don't really dry matte, or the only become matte once they wear off enough. They are expensive, but worth it and I actually got it when it was 20% off in my local drugstore.

A repurchase, but by now a reluctant one. I bought another oil a while ago from The Face Shop called Rice Brightening oil and it's the least effective oil when it comes to removing makeup I've tried so far and even though the reason I'm falling out of love with Biobaza is precisely because it's too weak and I need to do a double oil cleanse + cleansing gel, it's still far more effective and as an extra big plus, it works so well with my skin. However, this is my third bottle and again something is different than at other bottles, a recurring issue with these that I noticed. It's the scent that is different and this one actually smells rancid. It still works the same, but the smell is bothersome. However, I haven't found a cheaper alternative that would work with my skin and not break me out.

*THE BODY SHOP Roots of Strength Firming Essence
A new firming line by The Body Shop. I picked this product because ginseng is a very valued anti-ageing ingredient in K-beauty, so I like to use such products, plus it's one of the rare essences that's sold here, though it doesn't contain ferments and the ingredients read much like a regular toner. Formula is like a thick toner or a light serum and it sinks in fast, leaving no residue behind. So far I notice mostly the hydrating effect, but it's too soon to say anything about firming. My skin has been behaving while I've been using this and it's soft, so it's not causing any problems, but keeping the skin in check. The thing that could be a hit or miss at this is a strong medicinal scent with ginseng at the front. Personally I really like it, but I'm one of those who loves scented products, while some with sensitive skin might not be so happy about it. A serum and a cream exist as well, forming a skincare trio meant for 35+ skin. I'll report back after a longer use, but it already has a plus in my books because of ginseng.

*THE BODY SHOP Lip juicer Lip Balm
Strawberry, Pomegranate and Aloe Vera
The Body Shop created their version of these uniquely shaped lip balms, but they also experimented with colours. I picked the strawberry-coral one and honestly didn't expect much more that a nicely scented lip balm, but this is actually close to a sheer, almost matte lipstick. It has quite a decent colour pay-off giving a nice level of a juicy peachy-pink colour on the lips. Formula is a harder, waxy one and feels light on the lips, so this it's not the type you'd use when your lips are super dry, but it's nice for every day use and for preventing dryness. It smells just like soft candy and if you live around here you'll recognize it as the scent of Fru Fru candy in the strawberry version, so a sweet-sour scent. The cone shape makes it easy to apply and it looks fun, plus it exists in several shades, including clear.

Narciso Rodriguez Narciso Poudreé
Apparently this is one of the most popular fragrances at the moment and the name says a lot already, as this is pretty much the definition of a powdery fragrance. It's soft and comforting with only a hint of sweetness, actually it's very close to the Library of Fragrance Baby Powder scent, but more feminine, less linear. Notes include clean musk, jasmine, some tonka bean that gives it some sweetness and rose. A lot of people will love this for sure, while I'm still on the fence. Notes and more reviews. The bottle of this is gorgeous.

Dior Dune
I swear my skin multiplies patchouli a hundred fold and I can again smell it as the most prominent note here, but the behind it is the creamy, woody (Brazilian rosewood), sandalwood scent. It smells like the 90's and similar to chamomile tea. If you like Chanel Mademoiselle, you'll like this too, while I'd prefer it without patchouli. Notes.

Have a great day!
