Chi di voi ricorda la rubrichetta "Mimesis aka Wolf: He Solves Problems"?
L'avevo ideata per celebrare l'estrema versatilità di Mimesis, un ombretto Nabla color prugna che, per quanto mi riguarda, si adatta benissimo ad ogni trucco... Al punto da risolvere problemi, da cui la giocosa associazione con Mr. Wolfe.

Non avevo più avuto modo di proseguire con la rubrica ma ecco una terza, inaspettata puntata. Il trucco che vado a mostrarvi stava naufragando peggio del Titanic- causa ribellione di un pigmento minerale - ma lui ha aiutato a renderlo quantomento presentabile. 

Day 10 of 100 Days of Make Up Challenge! 

I created the "Mimesis aka Wolf: He Solves Problems" series last year, in honor of one eyeshadow: Mimesis by Nabla Cosmetics. A deep purple shade, so versatile it can be used in every make up... It really solves problem, like Mr. Wolf. 

No new episode since last year unfortunately... But here's episode three, quite unexpectedly. 
This look at first was quite a failure - thanks to a rebellious mineral eyeshadow - but Mimesis helped me to save what I can. 

Ancora non mi spiego cosa sia andato storto di preciso. Direi che uno dei pigmenti (un lilla dorato) abbia mal reagito alla base bianca che avevo steso sulla palpebra, con l'intenzione di far risaltare il lilla. Pessima idea: il colore si è alterato, ingrigendosi tantissimo e perdendo il riflesso dorato. 

Ero veramente sul punto di prendere lo struccante e rimuovere tutto, per ricominciare da capo: quel grigiastro non prometteva nulla di buono. Poi mi è caduto l'occhio su Mimesis e ho deciso di metterlo alla prova nella risoluzione di problemi makeupposi... E non mi ha delusa! *_*

La sua tonalità intensa ed opaca ha in qualche modo bilanciato ed esaltato il grigiastro, salvando il makeup e consentendomi di portarlo a termine in modo accettabile - grazie anche all'ausilio di una bella riga di eyeliner e un tocco di riflessi dorati.

I still don't know exactly what went wrong - I think the lilac eyeshadow on the lid didn't like the white base below. I used the white base hoping to enhance the lilac shade... Such a bad idea: it became grayish and lost all its gold sparkles. 

I was so frustrated I was about to take my makeup remover and wipe it off - but then I saw Mimesis and thought to give him a try, see if he could solve this problem. And he did! *_*

Mimesis' a deep, intense matte purple and complemented the look, balancing the grayish. Thanks to that (and with the help of a nice eyeliner and a gold pigment) I managed to save the look! 

• Primer occhi sulla palpebra mobile & base bianca sulla palpebra mobile;
• Ho applicato sulla palpebra mobile un ombretto lilla dal forte duochrome dorato, il n° 012 di MWW4U;
• Per aggiungere riflesso dorato, ho applicato il pigmento n° 047 di Jade Minerals su tutta la palpebra mobile;
• Nella piega, all'angolo esterno e nella palpebra inferiori ho applicato Mimesis di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Ho sfumato pazientemente Mimesis fino ad ottenere una sfumatura a V molto morbida;
• Ho creato l'eyeliner usando un pigmento minerale nero eyeliner bagnato con acqua semplice ed ho tracciato prima una linea classica, poi una più sottile sotto di essa;
• Tra le due righe, e in un piccolo dettaglio all'angolo interno, ho applicato la mica color oro 24 K di Mineraliberi; 
• Ho applicato Narciso di Nabla Cosmetics nella palpebra fissa come colore di transizione;
• Nell'arcata sopraccigliare ho applicato, come sempre, Antique White (avorio) di Nabla Cosmetics;
• All'angolo interno ho applicato un ombretto minerale lilla argenteo;
• Infine, ho completato il look con matita nera, ciglia finte e mascara.

• Eyeprimer & white base on the lid;
• I applied all over the lid a lilac eyeshadow with a strong gold duochrome, n° 012 by MWW4U (no more existing brand);
• To enhance the gold hues, I applied a gold reflects pigment all over the lid (n° 047 by Jade Minerals - no more exiting brand);
• I applied Mimesis (deep red-purple) by Nabla Cosmetics, on the outer corner, crease and on the lower lid;
• I blended Mimesis carefully, creating a soft V shape;
• I used a mineral black eyeshadow to create the eyeliner, mixed with plain water: first I traced my usual eyeliner line, then I traced a second, thinner line below it;
• I applied a bright gold mineral eyeshadow (24 K by Mineraliberi) between the two lines;
• I applied Narciso eyeshadow by Nabla Cosmetics as transition colour;
• On my brow bone I applied, as usual, Antique White (ivory) by Nabla Cosmetics;
• On the inner corner I applied a light lilac/silver pigment;
• Lastly, black eyepencil, falsies and mascara.

They're finally here! The much awaited makeups from my bestfriend Kitty. She bought some of it from U.S. during her 1 month tour and some were from Sephora Singapore. Supposed to be there should be mascaras but since her younger sissy has no check in luggage the rest were left.
I've got new makeups, and they're not the ordinary makeups that you can easily buy elsewhere! I'm just too lucky to have a generous bestfriend who buys everything that my heart desires. I'm actually spoiled and she never say no. I wonder when and how I can repay everything. Most of the thing she likes can't be bought by money, or if there's one then they're surely very expensive. **cough Louis Vuitton and Pandora**

My friend Renren and I picked up Jessa (my bestfriend's sissy who had her vacation for a week at SG) at Naia Terminal 3, and Jessa immediately gave my makeups, I didn''t even ask though I was too excited already. The treasures were inside a Sephora paper bag. I checked on them but then got to test them as soon as I went home.

Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade in Chocolate

I actually don't know if I should get Chocolate or Caramel or Ash blonde, but this one's too dark for my brows. But then, the most raved brow pomade's here, No complaints, should never complain. :)

Ardell Multi Pack False Eyelashes in Natural

One of the best and most popular brand for falsies, often paired with DUO eyelash adhesive. I've always wanted to try Ardell's but here in the Philippines they're a bit expensive for just a pair of lashes, but then with its softness and natural hair-like feel there's no question about it. However in Singapore, Ardell's cheap! It's almost half the price of what they sell here in my country. I don't have any plans to open it at the moment, or maybe for my upcoming photo shoot for a project I'm currently doing.

Kiko Cosmetics Twin Stars Nail Lacquer & Lipstick

Wow, never owned anything from Kiko Cosmetics but I must say the quality's really good. I actually have no idea about its price. I got mine in Divine Peach. My bezzie knows what shades I really fall for. The nail polish stays right on, didn't chip off after 24 hours (lol) coz cheap and even a bit expensive nail polish these days chips off really fast, unless they're gel type. It's bright milky peach, and the color's too summer-y. For the lipstick I expected it to be brighter and more pigmented, but though it's soft and gave off a mousse like feel, the color wasn't too intense and more on the nude side. Since it's just a lipstick, it's not rub proof nor smudge proof. I like topping it on liquid lipsticks instead. It can lessen the stickiness of matte lippies.

Mac Cosmetics Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick

WOW! JUST WOW! THE FEELS! I got mine in Feels So Grand, a dark red shade. I couldn't contain my happiness! When news broke out that Mac Cosmetics will be releasing liquid lipsticks I was already rooting for it. I told myself I should get one no matter what! When I went to several Mac Cosmetics stores they're all sold out. You can just try them using the testers, but you'll never get them and that's the sad part. When bezzie told us (me & Doc Edsie) that in Singapore they have all the stocks, we immediately told her to get us a beautiful red liquid lippie. Mine's "Feels So Grand" while Doc got "Quite a Stand Out". Oh yeah it seems like my fave Russian Red lippie's retiring for good. Will do a thorough review and I did a test and the result's just amazing. Will post it soon.

Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Face Perfecter in Champagne Pop

Another WOW! I appreciate how hard it is for my best friend to search for it, not to mention how much she spent just to pay for it. She bought Mac Liquid lippie and this and OMG. I don't wanna compute the total price. Well, Champagne Pop by Jaclyn Hill is the most raved highlighter. Will also do a separate and thorough review for his cheek bling.

Sigh. My makeups were getting expensive these days but I actually didn't buy them, most of them were gifts from generous people. When I was too busy I wasn't able to blog about Sheena's gifts for me, but soon I'd like to do a review for Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Lightscapade. Yes, if there are two people who usually give makeups that I love and too die for, they're bezzie and Sheena. I'm so thankful!!! :')

Giorno 9 della 100 Days of Makeup challenge!

Non so esattamente cosa mi frullasse nella testa il giorno in cui ho realizzato questo look: sicuramente desideravo sperimentare un po' con forme e colori, lasciandomi trasportare dall'ispirazione. Il risultato è un look grafico con colori a contrasto, meno complicato di quanto possa sembrare. Resta ancora adesso uno dei miei preferiti che abbia fatto finora ♥__♥ (E su Instagram sono arrivata al 55 giorno di challenge, sono leggermente indietro qui sul blog!) 

Day 9 of 100 Days of Make Up Challenge! 

I don't know what I was thinking when I created this look: probably, that day I felt like experimenting and playing with colours and shapes. Sometimes I just sit at my vanity table and create a look simply following my instinct. This is what I ended up doing: a quite graphic makeup, less complicate than it looks. It's still one of my favourite makeup looks I've made so far - please note that I'm already at day 55 on Instagram, I'm way behind here! 

• Primer occhi sulla palpebra mobile;
• Ho applicato sulla palpebra mobile l'ombretto (blu brillante) Eternity di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Per aggiungere profondità, ho applicato Nocturne di Nabla Cosmetics (nero opaco) nell'ultimo terzo di palpebra mobile;
• Ho applicato nella piega Fossil di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Ho creato l'eyeliner usando un pigmento minerale nero eyeliner bagnato con  semplice acqua, creando la sia la linea tradizionale che la linea grafica che incornicia l'angolo esterno;
• All'angolo esterno, sotto la linea grafica, ho applicato Glitz (bronzo medio) di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Nella palpebra inferiore ho applicato Baltic (blu scuro) di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Nell'arcata sopraccigliare ho applicato, come sempre, Antique White (avorio) di Nabla Cosmetics;
• All'angolo interno ho applicato nuovamente Glitz di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Infine, ho completato il look con matita nera, ciglia finte e mascara.

• Eyeprimer on the lid;
• I applied all over the upper lid a bright blue eyeshadow, Eternity (bright blue) by Nabla Cosmetics;
• On the outer part of the upper lid I applied Nocturne by Nabla Cosmetics, a matte black eyeshadow, to add depth;
• I applied Fossil eyeshadow by Nabla Cosmetics on the crease;
• I used a mineral black eyeshadow to create the eyeliner, mixed with plain water: first I traced my usual eyeliner line, then I traced the graphic line that goes inwards;
• On the outer corner, below the graphic line, I applied Glitz (medium bronze) by Nabla Cosmetics;
• On the lower lid I applied Baltic (deep blue) by Nabla Cosmetics;
• On my brow bone I applied, as usual, Antique White (ivory) by Nabla Cosmetics;
• On the inner corner I applied Glitz by Nabla Cosmetics;
• Lastly, black eyepencil, falsies and mascara.

Giorno 8 della 100 Days of Makeup challenge!

Altro look in perfetto stile sirena, più intenso del precedente ma ugualmente veloce e semplicissimo da realizzare. Anche qui ho combinato due colori che amo, verde acqua e viola, dando però maggior risalto al primo e lasciando piuttosto delicata la sfumatura viola, poiché desideravo che il verde fosse il  vero protagonista del look.

Day 8 of 100 Days of Make Up Challenge! 

One more mermaid look, this time more vibrant (see here the previous one) but still really easy and quick to make. I used again one of my favourite colour combination (aqua green and purple), keeping the purple soft and enhancing the aqua green - as I wanted it to be the focus of the look.

• Ho applicato sulla palpebra mobile (ed anche in quella inferiore) un ombretto minerale verde acqua intenso;
• All'angolo esterno ho sfumato Babylon di Nabla Cosmetics, senza portarlo troppo dentro la piega;
• Ho applicato nella piega Cattleya e Moonrise di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Ho creato l'eyeliner usando un pigmento minerale nero eyeliner bagnato con  semplice acqua;
• Come colore di transizione per la sfumatura ho usato un mix di Petra e Narciso di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Nell'arcata sopraccigliare ho applicato, come sempre, Antique White di Nabla Cosmetics;
• All'angolo interno ho applicato Aurum di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Infine, ho completato il look con matita nera, ciglia finte e mascara.

• Eyeprimer on the lid & turquoise eye pencil all over as a base;
• I applied all over the upper and lower lids a bright aqua mineral eyeshadow;
• I applied Babylon by Nabla Cosmetics on the outer corner, blending it outwards but nor inwards;
• I applied Cattleya and Moonrise eyeshadows by Nabla Cosmetics on the crease;
• I used a mineral black eyeshadow to create the eyeliner, mixed with plain water;
• I used a mix of Petra and Narciso eyeshadows by Nabla Cosmetics as transition shade; 
• On my brow bone I applied, as usual, Antique White by Nabla Cosmetics;
• On the inner corner I applied Aurum by Nabla Cosmetics;
• Lastly, black eyepencil, falsies and mascara.

Giorno 7 della 100 Days of Makeup challenge!

Per il sesto giorno di challenge ho deciso di realizzare un look che mi frullava in testa da un po': un make up ispirato ad Elsa di Frozen. In passato ne avevo realizzato uno in collaborazione con la mia splendida socia Foffy (qui trovate il mio post) ma era un'interpretazione personale, dai toni algidi e glaciali (molto in tono col vestito). Stavolta ho deciso di ricreare quello che lei indossa nel film!

Day 7 of 100 Days of Make Up Challenge!

I've always wanted to recreate Elsa's make up from the movie. I've already made an Elsa inspired look a couple of years ago (time really flies!) but it was more a personal interpretation - it featured really cold, frozen shades (that matched a lot her dress). This time I wanted to stick to her movie makeup look!

• Primer occhi sulla palpebra mobile;
• Ho applicato sulla palpebra mobile (ed anche in quella inferiore) l'ombretto Cattleya di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Ho aggiunto tridimensionalità applicando Moonrise di Nabla Cosmetics agli estremi della palpebra mobile;
• Ho applicato nella piega Mimesis di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Ho sfumato tutti i bordi con Petra, creando una sfumatura soffusa sia sulla palpebra fissa che nella palpebra inferiore;
• Per il punto luce centrale sulla palpebra mobile ho usato un particolare pigmento minerale, duochrome bianco/rosa (ahimé fuori produzione, del fu brand Jade Minerals);
• Come colore di transizione per la sfumatura ho usato Peach Velvet di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Nell'arcata sopraccigliare ho applicato, come sempre, Antique White di Nabla Cosmetics;
• All'angolo interno ho applicato Water Dream di Nabla Cosmetics (quasi impercettibile);
• Infine, ho completato il look con matita nera, ciglia finte e mascara.

• Eyeprimer on the lid;
• I applied all over the upper and lower lids Cattleya by Nabla Cosmetics;
•  I added depth to it by applying Moonrise by Nabla Cosmetics on each side of the lid;
• I applied Mimesis by Nabla Cosmetics on the crease;
• To soften and diffuse the colour, I blended it out with Petra by Nabla Cosmetics all around;
• To highlight the center of the lid I used a douchrome mineral eyeshadow in a white/rose shade (it's a discontinued product from a no-more-existing brand, Jade Minerals); 
• I used Peach Velvet by Nabla Cosmetics as transition colour; 
• On my brow bone I applied, as usual, Antique White by Nabla Cosmetics;
• On the inner corner I applied Water Dream by Nabla Cosmetics (barely noticeable);
• Lastly, black eyepencil, falsies and mascara.

Nuovo post pennelloso, stavolta i protagonisti sono alcuni dei nuovi pennelli della collezione Marbleous di Spectrum Collections.  L'azienda mi ha omaggiata del set occhi composto da 8 pezzi (che avevo in programma di acquistare a Giugno, ma loro mi hanno preceduta! Colgo l'occasione per ringraziarli nuovamente) aka il Marbleous Eye Set, quello composto da soli pennelli occhi.

Questo sarà un post di overview oltre che di prime impressioni, e vi mostrerò tutti i pennelli del set singolarmente, insieme ad una serie di confronti. Nota bene: questa non è una review. Dal momento che sto usando questo set da un mesetto scarso una recensione sarebbe decisamente prematura. Pubblicherò una recensione completa in autunno, più o meno. 

New brush-themed post today! I'm going to show you some of the newest brushes by Spectrum Collections from the Marbleous collection. I received the 8 piece set (which I was planning to buy on summer, but they beat me to the punch. Thank you again Spectrum!) aka the Marbleous Eye Set, the one focused on eye brushes. 

In this post I'm going to do an overview, show comparisons and give you my first impressions about each and every brushes of the set. Please note: this is not a review, since I've been using these brushes for just a month-ish. I'll post a proper, full and final review on autumn, more or less.

Ammetto di aver esitato un po' quando sono stata contattata (non solo per superare la sorpresa, perché stata una cosa veramente inaspettata): se mi seguite da un po' probabilmente saprete che non sono tipo da collaborazioni a gogo. Questo perché le vedo come un impegno non indifferente: non si tratta solo di ricevere "roba aggratis", ma anche di provare i prodotti a fondo, con costanza, scrivere uno o più post a riguardo e dare opinioni/giudizi accurati e non affrettati. Non solo, ma occorre anche una buona dose di tempo libero a disposizione. 

Per questo sono sempre alquanto schiva, già mi incasino coi prodotti che acquisto personalmente...

Tuttavia, stavolta ho deciso di accettare: conosco e stimo già da tempo il brand in questione, i pennelli sono la mia specialità ed era anche una buona occasione per mettermi alla prova nel campo delle collaborazioni. 

Detto questo, fine dell'introduzione più lunga del secolo e procediamo col post ;D

Must say, I hesitated when Spectrum Collections contacted me. (Not only to cope with the surprise!) If you've been following me for a while, you may already know that I'm not the kind of blogger crazy for freebies/collaborations. It's a considerable commitment: it's not only about receiving stuff for free. It also means testing it deeply (and I mean deeply), writing accurate post(s) and give an helpful, honest opinion. And thus requires a lot of time. This is why I am generally reluctant - I mean, sometimes I barely keep up with the stuff I buy personally! 

Anyway, this time I decided to accept: I already know and appreciate the brand, brushes are my forte and I felt like testing my self and see how I'd handle this collab.

That being said, let's wrap up this longest intro and go straight to the post ;D

~ Il Set / The Set ~

Questo set da 8 pezzi è incentrato sugli occhi, poiché tutti i pennelli inclusi sono pensati per tale zona, di cui molti sono da sfumatura e da applicazione. Caratteristica peculiare di questo set è la scelta dei colori: impugnature oro rosa, manici bianco ottico, serigrafie argentate e setole grigiastre. Anche se, tecnicamente, l'ispirazione di questa collezione è il marmo (da cui il nome "Marbleous") io li vedo più come pennelli da "Regina delle Nevi". Il bianco mi fa pensare, appunto, alla neve, mentre l'oro rosa aggiunge un tocco regale al tutto. Dopo i colori brillanti da sirena del set Glam Clam e dopo i colori oscuri del Siren Set, questi pennelli aggiungono un tocco di purezza ed eleganza alla mia collezione. 

Oltre a questo set composto da 8 pennelli occhi, è possibile acquistare il fratello composto da 4 pennelli viso (Marbleous 4 Piece Contour Set) oppure il set unico, che li comprende entrambi per un totale di 12 pennelli viso/occhi (Marbleous 12 Piece Set).

In questo set non è compresa la pochette abbinata, dalla caratteristica stampa effetto marmo, che è acquistabile separatamente. Francamente non so dirvi se la acquisterò: è carina ma, dovendo scegliere, prenderei ad occhi chiusi la "Half Unicorn Half Mermaid" e... non credo ci sia bisogno di spiegare il perché di questa scelta XD

Vediamo adesso i pennelli singolarmente, prima di procedere con i confronti.

This 8 piece set is eye-focused, meaning it features all eye brushes. shaders and blenders. They feature bright rose gold ferrules, pure white handles, silver writing and grayish bristles. Even though it is supposed to be marble inspired (hence the name of the "Marbleous" collection), I nicknamed it "Snow Queen" brushes. The white makes me think about snow, and the rose gold adds a touch of royalty to it. After the bright mermaid colours from the Glam Clam and the dark sirens shades from the Siren Set, this set brings a touch of pureness and elegance to my brush collection. 

Besides this 8 piece set, other two sets from this marble collection are available: the 4 piece set, focused on face brushes (Marbleous 4 Piece Contour Set) and the 12 piece set, which includes the two sets altogether (Marbleous 12 Piece Set). 

This particular set doesn't come with the matching, marble inspired bag, which can be purchased separately. I'm still not sure whether to buy it or not: it's cute but if I'd have to choose one to purchase next, it would be the "Half Unicorn Half Mermaid" one. I don't think I need to explain why, the name says it all XD

Let's see all the brushes one by one, before moving up to the comparisons. 

~ I Pennelli / The Brushes ~

(Le lettere nei codici dei pennelli, affiancati ai loro nomi, indicano se sono pennelli per l'applicazione (A), per sfumatura (B) o per il contouring (C). Dato che a volte pennelli uguali vengono segnalati con nomi leggermente diversi, i codici tornano utili per evitare errori e/o confusione).

(Small guide to Spectrum brushes' code: the letters indicate whether it's an Application brush, a Buffing/Blending brush or a Contouring brush. Sometimes the brushes' name slightly changes, or are listed differently in the sets, so the codes come handy to avoid confusion).

Tall Tapered Blender (B06): "Our most popular eye blending brush, this is the ultimate tool for creating all kinds of make-up looks, from soft and romantic to full blown sexy and smokey. Use to blend out colour or build up shade in the contours of the eye, this brush can do no wrong."

Un pennello da sfumatura con la punta arrotondata, setole morbide e flessibili. Diffonde bene i colori, creando sfumature morbide e delicate. Ne possiedo altri due, provenienti dagli altri set (vedasi comparazioni più giù), mai fatto mistero di apprezzarli moltissimo!

A round-shaped blender, with very flexible and soft bristles. Diffuse evenly the colours creating lovely blendings. I have two more from the other sets (see comparison down below), this kid of brush is a long time favourite!

Small Angled Blender (B04): "This is one of our best selling and most versatile brushes. The perfect size and shape to create a beautifully contoured eye. Use the soft angle of the brush to add shading to the outer corners and colour fades in the crease."

Pennello da sfumatura angolato, io preferisco di più i blender come quello sopra (oppure a goccia) - questo tipo in particolare lo prediligo per applicare un tocco delicato di colore nella piega e/o nell'angolo esterno. 

Another blender, this time angled shaped. I like more the rounded/drop shaped blenders, no mystery - but I find this kind of brush useful to apply a gentle touch of colour into the crease/outer V. 

Large Fluffy Shader (A06): "This little beauty is essential for creating gorgeous eye looks. Use the wide flat shape of the brush for application of powder or cream shadows to the entire lid. The large fluffy head gives a really soft blended finish, perfect for an every day eye look or use to build and blend colour for more intense finish."

...Il pennello da ombretto più grande che ci sia, come l'ho soprannominato io. Non riesco ad usarlo come un pennello da applicazione, sia perché è davvero enorme ed inoltre perché è troppo spesso e denso. Preferisco, per applicare ombretti & pigmenti, pennelli più piatti e sottili - tuttavia adoro usare questo pennello ciccioso per le sfumature. 

...The largest shader ever, as I nicknamed it. I still can't use it as a proper shader, due to its dimension and to its fluffiness. I prefer smaller, flatter shaders for shadows & pigments, but I LOVE using this particular kind of brush as a blender. And this applies to this brush too. 

Medium Fluffy Shader (A08): "This brush is a great all rounder. Use to apply and sweep powder, pigments or cream eyeshadow across the lid. The medium sized head means you can easily apply product to the whole eye area, or build shade in the outer corners while keeping a beautifully blended finish."

Questo sarebbe il fratellino di medie dimensioni del pennellone di cui sopra, ma è ancora troppo paffuto per i miei gusti. Sto provando ad usarlo a mo' di blender (come già faccio con il fratellone), ma in verità sto ancora cercando di capire come impiegarlo al meglio. 

Here is the little brother of the previous, large brush. Still too big and fluffy for my personal taste, I'm trying to use it as a blender (like I do with its big brother)... But I'm still figuring out how to properly use it. 

Tulip Eye Contour (C06): "Use individually or as part of our eye blending set, this brush is wonderfully fluffy, and perfect for contouring around the eye area. Use in the socket to add depth and definition, blending a strong contoured eye look with this brush is an absolute cinch."

Questo è il pennello di questo set che mi piace di meno: dovrebbe essere un pennello a punta ma, come vedrete meglio nei confronti, è invece tondo. Sembra una versione più densa del primo blender e la cosa mi è delusa un po'. Ne possiedo solo un altro con questa forma (o meglio, con quella che dovrebbe avere) ed ero elettrizzata all'idea di averne finalmente un secondo. In teoria andrebbe usato nella piega dell'occhio per dare profondità al trucco, ma senza la punta ciò mi riesce impossibile. Confesso di non avergli trovato uno scopo ben preciso finora, purtroppo. 

This is my least favourite brush from this set: it should be a pointed/drop shaped brush, but it's actually rounded. (You'll see better in the comparison pictures below) Looks like a fatter version of the Tall Blender... Must say, I'm a bit disappointed. I have just another brush that features this particular pointed shape and I was excited to get a second one.It was supposed to be used in the crease to add depth to the makeup... But the absence of the tip makes it impossible. I haven't found a purpose for this brush yet, unfortunately.  

Stubby Shader (A07): "The bristles on this brush are still soft and fluffy for blending, but the stubby shape means you can really pack on the colour. This brush is the perfect starting point for creating super smokey eyes or very pigmented colour."

Da qui in poi, vedremo tutti pennelli nuovi che mi stanno piacendo davvero moltissimo!
Il primo è questo pennello da applicazione dalle setole più corte e rigide rispetto agli altri, ma comunque morbidissime. Mi piace usarlo per costruire i colori, nella palpebra inferiore e per applicare il colore sotto l'arcata sopraccigliare. Funge bene anche per sistemare le sfumatura.

From now on, all new brushes that I'm really loving!
The first one is an application brush: a shorter and stiffer one, but still really soft. I love using it to pack on the colours, on the lower lid and also for my browbone colour. Works nicely to adjust the blending too.

Short Smudge (A13): "This beautiful brush is the perfect tool for applying powder or cream eye shadow around the lash line, to get a soft & smudgy effect. The short bristles are feathered, so you can build the colour to be as intense as you like."

Questo è il fratellino piccino del pennello di prima: setole ancora più corte e rigide, perfetto per i dettagli, per applicare gli ombretti nella palpebra inferiore con maggior precisione. 

This is like the little brother of the previous brush: its bristles are even shorter and stiffer, excellent for details - like applying shadows on the lower lid/lashline. 

Fluffy Pencil (A12): "This small but perfectly formed brush is the best tool for adding the finer details to your eye looks. Use to highlight the inner corners, add depth of colour to the crease, or smoke and blend out the upper and lower lash line. This little beauty gets in all the right places."

Dulcis in fundo, il mio pennello preferito dell'intero set ♥ Un pennello penna, piccolo, morbido e non troppo fitto. Grazie alle dimensioni ridotte consente applicazioni di precisione, ma anche di gestire piccole sfumature, di applicare l'illuminante all'angolo interno, e così via. Estremamente versatile! 

Last but not least, my very favourite brush from this set! ♥
A tiny pencil brush, soft and fluffy. Allows precise applications, thanks to its small size; also work nicely as a tiny blender for smaller zones, or to apply the highlighter on the inner corner... And so on. It's really a very versatile brush! 

~ B06 Tall Tapered Blender ~

Il blender proveniente da questo nuovo set è molto simile ai due già in mio possesso: è meno sottile rispetto a quello lilla (set Glam Clam) ma più tondo rispetto a quello nero (Siren set) che è quasi a goccia. Dovessi fare una classifica tra i tre, metterei in testa quello nero, seguito da quello bianco, e per ultimo quello lilla. 

Ho messo anche il Teal Blending (estrema sinistra) per confrontarlo con un pennello più a goccia e mostrarvi la differenza.

The Marbleous blending brush closely resembles its two brothers: less slender than the lilac one (from the Glam Clam) yet more rounded than the black one (from the Siren Set). My top three: the black one, this new white one, and the lilac one.

The Teal Blending (far left) is a more drop-shaped brush I put in here to show you the difference.

~ B04 Small Angled Blender ~

Il blender angolato di questo set è praticamente il gemello albino di quello del Siren Set (aka il pennello a sinistra). Il fratello lilla non differisce tanto per angolazione quando per sezione e densità delle setole. 

Ergo, mentre tengo da parte quello lilla e lo impiego per applicazioni/sfumature di precisione (per via della sezione sottile), quello bianco e quello nero li uso come blender.

This angled blender can be considered the white twin of the on from the Siren Set (the brush on the left). The lilac one is quite different: same angle but not as thick and dense as the other two.
So, while I keep the lilac one for more precise applications/blendings (due to its thin cut), the white one (like the black one) works nicely as a blending brush. 

~ A06 Large Fluffy Shader ~

Il pennello ombretto più grande di sempre colpisce ancora XD 

Anche questo sembra il gemellino pallido del pennello proveniente dal set nero. A sinistra, il primo di tutti, ho piazzato il Medium Fluffy Shader che dovrebbe essere il fratellino minore di questi pennellozzi. Ma, come potete ben vedere, è comunque grandino - hanno quasi le stesse dimensioni! 

All'estrema destra trovate invece uno dei miei pennelli da ombretto d'ordinanza (più piccolo e visibilmente più sottile) per rendere la differenza di dimensioni. Ecco perché preferisco usare questi giganti come pennelli da sfumatura (nella piega, soprattutto). Troppo grossi per essere usati sulla palpebra, troppo morbidi per poter costruire bene il colore... Ma spandono gli ombretti che è una meraviglia! 

The biggest eyeshadow brush strikes back XD

Again, the new one is the white twin of the black one. On far left I placed the Medium Fluffy Shader, which is supposed to be its little brother. Yet, you can see that they're both quite big, and they also have almost the same size! 

I also put, on far right, one of the shader I always use (smaller and way flatter), mostly to show you of big are the Spectrum shaders compared to it. No wonder I use them as big fluffy blender brushes! They don't fit my lids and can't really pack on the colours - but they diffuse the colours really nicely! 

~ A08 Medium Fluffy Shader ~

Ecco il pennello di "medie" dimensioni di cui accennavo qui sopra. Molto denso e decisamente poco piatto, risalta parecchio se raffrontato ai miei soliti, adorati pennelli da ombretto - piatti, sottili. Mi ricorda un po' il Base Shadow brush di Real Technique (il secondo da sinistra), anche lui in teoria pensato per l'ombretto, ma che in pratica uso anch'esso come blending brush.

Here is the "medium" sized shader I was talking about up above. It's really fluffy and big compared to my regular, flat brushes I use for eyeshadow applications. It reminds me of the Real Technique Base Shadow Brush (the second from left) which is also supposed to be a shadow brush... But I can't help but use it as a blender, too. 

~ C06 Tulip Eye Contour ~

Ecco il pennello della discordia u.u 

Dovrebbe essere a punta (come il collega sulla sinistra) ma, come noterete, è perfettamente tondeggiante. (Il Mistero della Punta Perduta XD)

È l'unico che mi lascia perplessa di tutto il set... Sono riuscita a trovare uno scopo ben preciso a tutti gli altri, ma non so bene come impegnare questo pennello qui. Forse per il correttore? Di certo non come blender, è decisamente troppo denso e fitto! (Più che sfumare, andrebbe a rimuovere i colori!)

Supposed to be pointed (like the one on the left), as you can see it's totally rounded. (The mystery of the Lost Point XD)

As I said before, this is the only brushes that disappointed quite a bit. While I managed to find a specific purpose to all the other brushes, I'm not sure how to use it. Perhaps as concealer brush? It's a little too dense and thick to be used as a blending brush, sadly. (Instead of blending, it would wash out the colours!)

~ A07 Stubby Shader ~

Lo Stubby Shader è senz'altro un pennello unico all'interno del mio stash: come vedete non avevo molto con cui paragonarlo. A destra ho posizionato il solito pennello ombretto: lo Stubby Shader è più spesso e fitto, ma le sue setole sono leggermente più corte. Rispetto al fratellino piccino picciò, lo Short Smudge (a sinistra), risulta più grosso e ciccioso. 

The Stubby Shader is an unique brush in my collection, for sure. I used the usual shadow brush of mine and the Stubby Shader for this comparison. The first one, on the right, is flatter and has slightly longer bristles. The other one, on the left, is teeny tiny compared to its big brother. 

~ A13 Short Smudge ~

Per quanto concerne lo Short Smudge, avevo un solo pennello simile a cui paragonarlo - anche lui piccino, dalle setole corte e rigide. Lo Short Smudge ha le setole appena più lunghe (nell'ordine di 1/2 millimetri), più soffici e meno rigide e ha una sezione meno sottile. L'altro presenta setole parecchio più rigide ed una sezione più sottile. 

Regarding the Short Smudge, I had only one brush to compare to it - tiny, with short bristles. The Short Smudge has longer bristles (1/2 millimeters longer), softer and more flexibles, and comes with a bigger cut. The other one's bristles are a lot more stiff. 

~ A12 Fluffy Pencil ~

Infine, il confronto relativo al Fluffy Pencil. Confesso di non possedere molti pennelli a penna (disonore sulla mia mucca), i miei preferiti sono i due inclusi in questa foto. Entrambi fuori produzione, quello a sinistra è molto rigido ma dalla sezione ridotta, quello a destra è più grande e denso. Il Fluffy Pencil è un pennello penna interessate: piccolo, ma non rigido, molto morbido. Ciò gli consente sia di applicare che di sfumare con precisione. Adoro!

Finally, the Fluffy Pencil comparison. Must say, I don't own so many pencil brush (dishonor on my cow). Those are the two I use the most - both discontinued. The one on the left is stiffer, smaller, with a tiny cut; the one on the right is bigger and denser, still quit stiff. The Fluffy Pencil is very interesting pencil brush: it's small, but not stiff, soft. This is why it can be used for both application and blending! Love it!

~ Considerazioni Final / Final Thoughts ~

Le mie impressioni al momento sono positive - il set è ben assortito, i pennelli sono di ottima qualità - nessuno ha perso neanche mezza setola finora e, nonostante le candide setole, basta lavarli e non restano macchiati neanche dopo l'uso di prodotti scurissimi. (Cosa per nulla scontata, credetemi. Ho pennelli bianchi rimasti macchiati con colori molto più blandi!)
Il prezzo mi pare abbastanza ragionevole per un set di 8 pennelli, specialmente se raffrontato a quelli del Glam Clam e del Siren Set. 

I pennelli come avete visto mi stanno piacendo un po' tutti (a parte il "Tulip" che è stato davvero una delusione), alcuni sono vecchie, apprezzate conoscenze mentre altri sono nuovi amori.

Credo che questo set sarebbe stato veramente perfetto con l'aggiunta di un pennello da eyeliner e/o uno angolato da sopracciglia - a favore di coloro che cercano un set contenente tutti gli essenziali. (Anche se, in teoria è un set si propone come kit per le sfumature...)

Ma soprattutto necessitava di un pennello ombretto a lingua di gatto - tipo il Precision Crease (A16) che acquisterò non appena avrò modo di piazzare un ordine.

My first impressions by far are positive - it's lovely set, well matched, high quality. No one of these brushes lost bristles (I've already washed them several times) and they don't get stained - just was them and you'll see that they'll come back to pure white, even if you used deep dark shades. (Never ever take this for granted: I still have some white brushes that got stained after using paler shades). 
The price is quite reasonable for an 8 piece set, which is really nice (especially if you compare it with the Glam Clam or the Siren Set prices). I'm loving almost all the brushes (apart for the "Tulip" one which was quite a letdown), some are long time favourites while other are new loves! 

I think this set would be really perfect with the addiction of an eyeliner brush and/or an angle eyebrow brush - for those who where looking for an essentials brush set. (Even though it's supposed to be a blending-essential-set, so...). But, above all, a flat eyeshadow brush was needed - like the Precision Crease (A16) which I'll be purchasing as soon as I'll be able to place an order. 

E questo è tutto, almeno per ora! Che ve ne pare di questo set? Quale preferiti tra i set Spectrum finora proposti? Il mio resterà sempre il Glam Clam, non c'è bisogno di dirlo mi sa ;D
